so...they're not coming to canada are they?
I am sure I didn't see any info on such a thing happening, how arghing if so, anyone have any confirmation either way?
|
Nope... they're not coming here once again. Actually I don't think their "World Tour" consists of any dates outside of the states as far as we know.:(

pfft
how ridiculous, they should definetly rethink their beliefs as far as the "world" is concerned.
|
Apparently there will be more dates added but personally I am doubtful they will be outside USA

Maybe they are waiting to see if Stevie
holds up physically 2 or 3 months down the road before they commit to more dates further away from the States. I'm no expert but I bet that is part of it. If they were younger, especially Stevie, I think they would have announced more venues further out.

Already burned once
The least they could do is play Vancouver! After all, they cancelled their Dance concert here in '98 at the last minute. Something about Lindsey's voice, or Stevie's tantrums, or Mick's balls--who knows WTF it was. Anyway, there I was, walking off the train at Stadium station, and all these cranky fans walking back onto the train saying "don't bother."
We went to a bar and drank and cursed every one of them for hours. Now, don't you think they could add just one more date after their Auburn, Washington show? Just three more hours up Interstate 5? But nooooooooooooo. |
Oops. The Dance cancellation was '97, not '98. October, to be exact.
And here's a little article about it from our local newspaper: VANCOUVER ROCK promoter Paul Mercs tells me he didn't receive a single angry phone call as a result of Sunday night's sudden Fleetwood Mac cancellation. You really have to wonder what this says about Fleetwood Mac fans. Maybe, having paid up to $89.50 for a ticket, they good- naturedly turned around and went home to make cranberry sauce. A Metallica crowd would've made a mockery of the riot squad's long weekend. What I'm really having a tough time with, though, is Lindsey Buckingham's "bronchitis." The band apparently phoned in sick just an hour or so before the GM Place show was due to start. From SeaTac. A little fishy, don't you think? Any doctor will tell you that bronchitis usually sticks around for a week to 10 days. Yet Fleetwood Mac played encores to a sold- out crowd at the Tacoma Dome Saturday and again for two nights Tuesday and yesterday in San Jose, Calif. Rock critics in both cities loved the show. When I called, both were surprised to hear about Buckingham's bronchitis. Must've been that, er, wimpy one-day strain that's going around. OK, so maybe the guy's entitled to a sick day once in a while -- and maybe "bronchitis" was a necessary exaggeration. But when there are this many people paying big money and going to so much trouble with babysitters, etc., the least they expect is to be informed of a cancellation before they leave the house. Uuuuurrrrgggghhh!!! I know, I know . . . GET OVER IT!! Back to work, now. :wavey: |
Did Stevie play any dates in canada in 2001? I can't remember. In any case, FM should do some dates there. From what I hear, the album is doing fairly well there. Same with the UK.

(But that was her only non-US show that year) |
Perhaps it's World Tour like "World Series"...

I feel your pain Rainman. I suppose the heightened security at the border may have played into no Canada dates. I was at the Tacoma '97 show, and Buckingham just plain blew out his voice with 3 or 4 songs to go as Nicks took his vocal parts in a couple of those. I think it was on Not So Funny that he was screaming and ripped his cords.
