First UK review

Just bought a Rock magazine with a full page review of SYW here in the UK. It says really good things about the album, and gives it 4 out of 5 stars.
Can't wait for Uncut magazine to come out this month, as FM are going to be on the cover!!!!

Thanks for this... which mag was it in?

What sort of stuff did it say?

INFO PLEASE, INFO LOL

DWIG 03-31-2003 02:15 PM

Sorry!

Sorry for not being a bit more specific, but i couldn't remember the name of the mag and my friend had nicked it to read (i now have it back!)
It is the April issue of Classic Rock magazine. There is the usual bumph at the beginning, then it goes on to say how great it is that Lindsey is producing the Mac again. It calls 'what's the world coming to' a bland opener, but then goes on to say "maybe, this is to soften you up for 'Murrow' with its Tusk like tribal beats and breathy vocals (it continues.......but i was more intrigued by the next comments!) The first of Nicks' songs 'Illume' hits like a dose of endorphin running throught the brain, the chemical rush coming from her clarion voice, melodic style and Buckingham's sublime (that is SUBLIME!!!!!!!!) production fairy dust.
There are more possitive comments about some othere songs such as Thrown down and Red rover and it says 'Say goodbye' tries a few rhinestones on for size (so that is very interesting.......as i don't think the GOS version is country at all!!)

Any chance of a full write up? Or is it a bit too long?

I saw this at the weekend, whist I was searching for the Uncut magazine, must admit the review alone didn't make me want to buy the magazine.

I suspect Classic Rock Magazine will do a feature on Fleetwood Mac in a future issue as should Q Magazine hopefully:cool:

UK review

I thought it was really exciting to see a full page review of the new material - and had no hesitation in buying it!
It is very favourable and says positive things about the band - which is unusual these days (normally all reviewers do is slate the artist and the music - unless you happen to be The White Stripes or Coldplay, both of whom i like, but..........you get the gist!)
I think FM are going to get a lot of really good press about this album and tour, and i can't wait for it to continue (roll on Uncut!)
I e mailed the Johnny Walker show on Radio 2 - because i know he will be playing something off of the album. I am going to e mail other tv and radio people and i urge all other UK fans to do the same!

Gypsy-Rhiannon 04-01-2003 02:11 PM

I emails radio quite often! LOL! You should also email Richard Allinson and Ken Bruce

The reviewer seemed most impressed by "Murrow".

Anyway, it notes that the album is 76 minutes long.

Fingers still crossed for "Come" then.

I was wondering too if Q might. Although, it seems they mostly mock and make fun of Buckingham & Nicks, so I'm not sure if I want Q to feature them. Hehe. ;)

Thank you for posting about it. If anyone gets an opportunity, would they type it up and post it for us to see? It's great to see Fleetwood Mac getting publicity!
