dixie chicks

I just got the "Home" cd from the Dixie Chicks. I LOVE it! I haven't been able to listen to a "new" cd from front to back & like every single song on for quite awhile now, but this one...WOW!

I read on the Nicks Fix that Stevie would want to be(in her younger days) a DC if she was able to.~Oh yes, I think Stevie would be a great Dixie Chick!~Could you guys just picture Stevie's voice & looks with that group? Natalie Maines watch out...

Absolutely she already has part of the look! Gotta love those boots!

that would be interesting if Stevie was a Chick! I'm sure Natalie wouldn't like it though, she'd be out of the spotlight for sure! Hey on another note, I've heard quite a few people remark that Natalie's voice sounds like Stevie's used to. What do you guys think? Natalie's voice is a bit too grating for me and I really don't think she sounds like Stevie but ...

Home is a GREAT cd!!!

I LOVE Home. I just got it last month and it totally blew my mind. The mutual admiration betwen Stevie and the Chicks is so cool. That really made me appreciate them more. I love Too Far From Texas, and I hope Stevie and the Chicks swap guest appearances on each others albums in the future.

I have to agree with ya...I never really liked the Dixie Chicks much until I heard the song "Goodbye Earl", Then I could at least tolerate 'em.

So one one nite while grocery shopping at WallyWorld, I saw the deluxe version of "Home" (Which includes the Sheryl Crow remix of "Landslide" and also includes an extra disc; A DVD with the videos for "Landslide", "Long Time Gone", "Goodbye Earl" & "Wide Open Spaces".) which I bought...And it's one of the few cd's that I can play start-to-finish...I'm very surprised because I didnt know what to expect when I bought it...I honestly thought I would be disappointed but I wasn't, A highly recommended cd...Brian J.

I think Natalie's voice sounds a little bit like Stevie's because of the nasal quality, but to me, Stevie's "younger" voice sounds alot more babyish and sweet than Natalie's does. Nat's is more up and your face kinda. Am I making sense?

Makes sense to me...Natalie's voice is what we "Okies" call "Redneck-Punk" sounding...And it is more in-yer-face than Stevie's voice is...Brian J.

natalie's voice is NO accident.. she went to berklee college of music in boston. she's highly trained.. there's no doubt in my mind that if she applied herself (for lack of better phrasing.. meaning, if she canned "country" and "country/pop" music).. she could prove her critics wrong.

as for sounding like stevie's voice.. i can kind of hear that. neither of them have very "high" voices.. they both come across as being kinda "loud" i can see the connection, southern accent aside.

I'm really not into country music,

but I do like the Dixie Chicks. I think they sound great & put out really good music. I don't have Home though. I really first took notice of them when they did The Runaway Bride soundtrack. I just had to have that soundtrack after I saw the movie. Both the movie & soundtrack are really good. I saw them sing the National Anthem at the Superbowl & saw them on SNL last Saturday. They did an excellent job on both.

Lee :)
