Fleetwood Mac Saves A Life
A story on today's MSNBC Web site (www.msnbc.com/local/scoex/m8793.asp) tells of a man named Gerald Gelinas who was sexually assaulted at the age of 14, & is now telling his story in the hopes of helping others. The assault led to his drinking & near-suicide, but a love of Fleetwood Mac saved his life.
"I was suicidal. There were three times I seriously considered it," Gelinas said. "One time I was driving around with a knife in the car & it was the band Fleetwood Mac that saved me. I love that band." Gelinas didn't specify which incarnation. |
Wow what an amazing story - Thanks David.
To quote Homer: "Rock stars ... is there anything they can't do?" :) |
That's a really touching story, thanks for posting that David. I can only imagine what an immense sense of satisfaction any member of FM would get as a musician if they read that article. I really hope that they do indeed come across it, or someone shows it to them.
