Stevie and Stormy Weather Benefit
Stormy Weather 2002
Stevie is scheduled to perform at the benefit concert Stormy Weather, at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on November 13th. This event, organized by Don Henley, benefits the Walden Woods project and the Thoreau Institute At Walden Pond. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster. The Stormy Weather line-up in addition to Stevie is expected to be: Paula Cole, Deborah Cox, Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Reba McEntire, Joni Mitchell, Susan Tedeschi and Trisha Yearwood. Does anyone know if Stevie will (or has done) any small solo events around these benefit type things? |
Well...
There was a promo "various artists" compilation CD out in 1998 called "Stormy weather" which seemed to have mostly the same personnel on it also benefiting the Walden Woods projects and Stevie was on that disc doing a version of "At last", a song made famous by Etta James. I wonder if this means there will be a "Stormy weather 2" CD?! YAY! :)

walden woods is the area around the pond, has lots of cool trails when I was in seventh grade my class did a cleanup their, its really weird though but you'd think theyed have the concert in boston since concord only like 45 mins outside the city as opposed to L.a on the compleate opposite side of the country. hmmmmm

Hmm...

THANK YOU! My point exactly...that is what i have been saying since the 1998 benefit...they should have it in MA...since that is where Walden is...for God's sake(this has NOTHING to do with the fact that i live in Massachusetts,lol)...Don Henley needs to turn his brain on,i swear...it would be so much more meaningful if they did it somewhere close to the actual place...like he can't afford to fly all the performers out for a few days...then they might actually get to see what they are singing to benefit...cause i am willing to be most of them have never even seen Walden...anyway...that is my rant...not that it is gonna change anything...but i just had to bitch cause since it is out there, there is no way that i am going :( |
wow this is really weird cause i wen to scoll in concord for three years and my brother still goes to school their and stuff and noone has ever heard of this thing their dont sell the cd in town advertise/mention it anywhere. seriosly if don henley is so concerned about waldon pond and all why doesnt he thy to be involved with that area immean has he ever even been their before.FiercestCalmSea I agree with you all the way. why does the entertainment industry limit themselves exclusivly limit themselves to new york and LA i mean seriously haveing a benifit for a place in MA in Cally its just wrong. sorry very tired two paper to write tonight and class at 730 i better get sleep before i go off on god knows what again.
|
Well i know Don definitely knows alot about it and has been there...he was just there recently because they aquired more land for Walden, but i think that is a far as it goes for people knowing about it.Unless you are in the New England area and get dragged there on a field trip or something, you don't hear too much.I'm all for charity, but,if i was doing a benefit,i'd wanna know more about what exactly i was trying to benefit.

So...
Soo....Did we ever find out what song she sang?
