'Divas Las Vegas' coming on DVD & CD....

(from Billboard.com....)

'Divas Las Vegas' Hits DVD/CD

Epic will on Oct. 22 release DVD and CD versions of "Divas Las Vegas," a collection of performances by top female stars Celine Dion, the Dixie Chicks, Cher, Stevie Nicks, Anastacia, and Shakira that took place May 23 in Las Vegas. The performance was aired on VH1 as the fifth annual "VH1 Divas Live" special.

The release will be available separately as well as in a combo package with the DVD and the audio CD. The performance, which took place at Las Vegas' MGM Grand, finds the artists performing some of their own hit songs (Cher's "Believe" and "Song for the Lonely"), tributes to each other (the Dixie Chicks and Stevie Nicks' collaboration on Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide"), and covers of classic tracks, including a show-closing medley of Elvis Presley tunes.

The DVD and CD were mixed in 5.1 surround sound, and the former also includes a documentary featuring behind-the-scenes footage. A portion of the proceeds from the release's sales will benefit VH1's Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises money for public school music programs.

Here is the track listing for "Divas Las Vegas":

"You Shook Me All Night Long," Celine Dion and Anastacia
"Believe," Cher
"Song for the Lonely," Cher
"Underneath Your Clothes," Shakira
"Landslide," Dixie Chicks featuring Stevie Nicks
"One Day in Your Life," Anastacia
"I'm Alive," Celine Dion
"A New Day Has Come," Celine Dion
"Jailhouse Rock," Anastacia
"Always on My Mind," Shakira
"Heartbreak Hotel," Cher
"Can't Help Falling in Love," Celine Dion

well it looks like they are skipping Stevie's Elvis song...Ring around My...Collar? Neck? What the heck was that song anyways? I mean sure,Stevie belted it out and looked dang cute doing it-but why couldn't she get Hound Dog or something anyone on the planet had ever heard before? Probably those other more aggressive Divas took all the good songs. A Stevie-Diva is a polite Diva. A Celine-Diva is a...ewwwww...we don't want to go there! (tee hee-just kidding..well, sort of...)

*lol* @ "a Celine-Diva is ewwww"

Actually I think "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck" was a fairly popular tune... but definitely not in league with "Hound Dog" or "Jailhouse Rock."

I'm sure Stevie's song will be on the DVD (at least I hope!), it just looks like they decided not to include it on the CD for some strange reason (but then, I noticed they only included a few of the "medley" tunes).

Hopefully, they'll put Stevie back in the mix so we can actually hear her this time, remember how crappy the televised version was, and her mike cut out!

Actually, I noticed that on the rerun of the show on vh-1, they did put her voice back in......however, I still have the yucky-your-voice-cut-out version on tape!!!

I think I'm going to buy this.....even if it does have Celine & Shakira on it!!

I wonder if it's because they can only fit 79+ minutes on a CD and the show was over 90 minutes so naturally, they can fit the whole show on the DVD but rather than release the CD as a 2 disc set, they obviously prefer the idea of cutting out some stuff to "fit it" on to one CD? YUCK! I woulda been happy splashing out on a 2 CD set version if it meant getting BOTH SN performances or surely they coulda found something else to edit out of the CD version rather than SN's Elvis deal if they felt as though they had to do the "cut some stuff out" thing. Oh well! :)

I completely agree, John.
Most 2-disc sets sell relatively inexpensively nowadays (I remember when they used to cost $32), so it would have been nice had they gone the 2-disc set route with this.

I'm not too worried though... I'm sure some enterprising Stevie fan will convert her track from the DVD to an mp3, and will share it with us.
:)

And Stephanie's right... the last time I caught the Divas Las Vegas special, the drop-outs (and overall low volume) on Stevie's vocals were fixed.
