Some thoughts on new FMac stuff

I was just thinking today, about the new FMac album, and wondering how great it would be if they could come up with something as wonderful and successful as 'Rumours' or 'Tusk' (each being wonderful and successful in their own different ways!)
I know that Stevie is an amazing songwriter/singer and that Lindsey is an amazing guitarist/producer, but will their new stuff be a success (artistically and comercially). I hope Lindsey takes a lot of time to work on Stevie's songs and really gets the best out of her (like he used to!) and that his songs feature Stevie in an interesting way!
I think it is a bit disturbing to think of Micks recent comments about how they are getting back to being a rock and roll band (how will Stevie fit into that -after all she used to wander off stage when they got to that type of stuff, whereas Chris would stay and add her own stuff)
Lindsey & Stevie's voices are amazing together - and i hope this is the crux of the new album (BN style!)
Only a few days left before the new Greatest Hits collection is released - hope they do add stuff to it - like the new in studio
stuff (which will be the most exciting bit for me!)
Lastly, read today that Tori Amosw considers 'Rumours' to be one of the greatest albums ever (join the club!!) and taht she really praises the engineering and production of it in a recent article.
Cheers from the UK

mythoughts

I dont think they will ever reach the commercial success of Rumours....Im like 100% that, but their artistic success I dont think has ever lacked, and Im sure it will be portrayed very well on this album...although we love Christine, shes gone, and that does give Stevie & Lindsey somewhat more creative room on the record, and possibly some great duets..

I think Stevie can definetely rock out when she wants, "Sisters of the Moon," "Rhiannon" "Gold Dust Woman," "Edge of Seventeen" "Fall From Grace" are just some examples of Stevie totally going to a rock vibe...Now I THINK this album will have an old school type rock feel mixed with some new age blends....Rumours is age-less, even tho it was released in 77 if someone had never heard some of those songs, they wouldnt know...so Fleetwood Mac HAS the ability to do timeless songs, and reach all audiences.....I hope and I t hink this CD will do commercially well, not rumours, but it will do well. I also think Stevie's songwriting, and Lindsey's has changed a lot, and their will be some very deep moments on this CD, and some just cool rock songs ya know?
we'll just have to see..
