#52 VH1's 100 Sexiest Artists Hour 3
Check out VH1 for details. Our Stevie is in their 100 Sexiest Photo Gallery too. I hope they have some cool footage for her
spot and not the same old footage. : ) |
WELL ALRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
I wondered if she would be included and hoped she would be!! Very deserving!!!! Always was beautiful......still is!!!!!!!!!!! :D :woohoo: :blob2: :blob1:  Stephanie |
I'm so happy she's on the list, I just wish she was a little higher up....but hey, you can't win them all....
|
Same ol' footage...
but it was cool that they used the SIAB video a lot. And WHY did Pat Benatar keep referring to Stevie in past-tense, as if she's dead? That bugged me...but I loved the other comments everyone else made. Way to go, Stevie!!

I knew it would be the same old footage. I was glad that Stevie made it into the countdown.. and really liked the cool comments that everyone said about her. It was well deserved!

Yeah she's right between Roger Daltrey and Jimi Hendrix! That's a pretty nice set or bookends, indeed!
I bet she is happy with it! I really didn't like that they played SIAB so much, because she didn't write it, and she wasn't really at a point in her career where she looked her best. I wish they had showed a little more Gypsy and Hold Me, and a little more Dance footage, esp. during GDW. She looked awesome there. Of course we got a good helping of the Stand Back treadmill! ;)!!! Overall I thought it was great, but I also wish Stevie has been one of the ones giving commentary on some of the others, esp. Hendrix, Benetar, and Reznick, I know she likes them. Did you guys see Stevie was #5 for sexiest voice? My fav new comment about her was when they said "She's so tiny, but she has this deep voice that just comes rattling out of her, and it's sexy." :)!! |
I'm glad she ranked as high as #52 but I think the montage from the 100 Greatest Woman was better, this seemed a little disjointed as the pics and video clips kept jumping from era to era...but I did like that they played SIAB, not the same old same old...
|
OH I FORGOT ABOUT THAT!

It was Debbie Harry who said that about Stevie and I thought it was so true. I love when other artists say a little commentary. She really is well liked!

P.B. was just mad because she couldn't quite pull off the "If You Ever Did Believe" Stevie era hair. Did anyone else notice that, was it a wig? It was flop city. Stevie should be #1 for best hair over 40, most woman can not carry it off.
I think P.B. was obviosly jealous! She referred to her in the past tense and only begrudgingly (sp?) admitted that she may quite possibly be perhaps sexy in a way! |
Does anyone know who the oldest woman was on the show?:p
|
Well, I'm sure they played Sometimes It's a Bitch to kill two birds with one stone. They needed a Stevie video to play, plus they needed a bunch of other footage for a montage. SIAB video IS just that. To add, I don't see why it's so important to many whether Stevie wrote the song or not. Like on the Survivor things we have on here...people vote out songs just because "she didn't write it." I'm not bashing anyone here, I just don't understand why that's so important.

I totally agree with you...I think though that b/c Stevie is known as writing the majority of her own work and being such a prolific and strong writing force that people tend to not like her other songs that are not written by her as much. "Talk To Me" was a great pop rock ditty in 1985 and the rest of the 80's, but today it seems irrelevant to me somehow. It just doesn't have that timelessness that her self penned work seems to have. Maybe that's part of the issue? SIAB really captured the massive power of her voice, it was very strong and full and "edgy", one of the few times she comes close to using bad language in any of her work. :wavey: |

I would say Tina Turner or Cher or Miss Ross were the oldest, although Blondie looked like she was about 75! ;) Stevie has held up the best with no plastic surgery and can anyone confirm that there has been not even a tuck? I would tend to say no because she does have some natural aging on her face, she just carries it well because she has lovely skin. |
