Here's my ranked Stevie solo albums and my favorite (right at the moment, of course) line from each album....

#6 Rock a Little (you guys forgot this one)

Come back solemn stranger, it's your last chance, cause she's almost gone, and she'll go FAST like a jet plane and FAST like a star stream, and she'll hit you with her fury, whisper in the words one more time.

I'm not going to look at anyone's answers until I post mine... because that seems to make it harder to answer instinctually.

#1. The Wild Heart
This album epitomizes everything I love about Stevie's music: ponderable lyrics that manage to hit you where you live... a voice that is broken and vulnerable in one instance, then strong and exultant the next... pulsating synth lines... galloping drum-beats...
forget 'Bella Donna,' THIS is Stevie's 'Rumours.'

Oh! My favorite line?....
"We come from different worlds, but we are the same.... I never doubted your beauty, I've changed...."

#2. Rock A Little
The first Stevie album I ever owned, and the album that kicked me into the high gears of Stevie/Mac fandom. I think the grooves of this record must have been coated with an addictive chemical!

#3. Trouble In Shangri-La
fave line:
"No doubt, no pain, come ever again... let there be light in this lifetime...."

#4. The Other Side Of The Mirror

"Think About It" is such a wonderful, life-affirming song. A bright spot on what's really a very dark album.

3. Trouble in Shangri-La
From "That Made Me Stronger": Once more I tell the shadows of my soul to stay back / Everything has changed now
I think this album has the best lyrics of Stevie's career. They're straightforward but thoughtful.

4. The Other Side of the Mirror
From "Juliet": Get some ribbons and some bows / And get back out on the road
I LOVE that line!
Runner-up, from "Whole Lotta Trouble": You're not my friend, you're not my love / And this is something that we really don't discuss

5. Street Angel
From "Blue Denim": I'm going away for a little while to remember how to feel / And if I find the answer, I promise you, I'll come back and get you
That was a no-brainer. What a terrific line.

6. Rock a Little
From "Has Anyone": In all your darkest hours / Have you ever heard me sing
This is the album I listen to least, though it has its moments.

"In the cool, silent moments of the nighttime" - I love this line, it's so right, because I'm a night owl, I love the silence and coolness of nighttime.

"Have fun, tell the world" - That's just a great line!!

4. Rock A Little

I don't own Street Angel, but I LOVE Blue Denim, especially "Blue-gray eyes they change with the color, change with the sun that run with the sight, change with the wind but they're always bright, bright eyes, blue denim..." - Sigh...those gorgeous eyes of Lindsey's....

6. Third Disk of Enchanted
"The beautiful and the sensitive and the oh so very young, we are adapted to your silence, I can live here without you, at least I'm learning, but I cannot live without your songs" - That's exactly how I feel about myself..I'm beautiful, sensitive and young, and I cannot live without their songs! LOL
