Destiny > Enchanted

Hopefully one of the Ledgies can answer this question :-

I keep hearing of links between Enchanted and Destiny, can anyone expand opon this.

Thanks in advance :)

The obvious link is the duplicate lyrics: crying in the morning, trying to be strong...etc.
In a radio show I heard in '94 (?) a caller asked her about this as she had mentioned a line in one of her other songs that was duplicated somewhere. She (very defensively) said something like: well, they ARE two different songs, but they did originate from the same poem in my journal.

Yes...I believe there are some other songs where this happens but I can't think right now

I love "Enchanted" & "Destiny."

Does you guys remember that Stevie told the audience on the 1994 tour that she wrote "Destiny" in 1974. Apparently it's about her heading up north (San Jose) to visit her parents after she & Lindsey had already moved to L.A., meeting an unnamed blond guy, falling in love & coming very close to staying in San Jose with him rather than return to L.A. & Lindsey. So her decision, finally, to return to Los Angeles was "destiny."

She wrote "Enchanted" in New York in 1981. So what's weird about all this is that the song that was recorded first ("Enchanted") was written second, & the song that was recorded second ("Destiny") was written first.

It's awesome ....

Whole Lotta Trouble and 1000 days

"Well you're not my friend and you're not my love...
And this is something that we really don't discuss...
Where are you?
Sometimes I hear you crying....
But I wake up and I get through it...."
