Great Story

So...I'm at work today at about 10:30 and my mother calls. She was supposed to call me at home at 9:00 to make sure I was up because with the medication I'm on, I'm afraid I might sleep through my alarm. So she called to say sorry, she forgot, which was ok cause I got up in time anyway. Leading back to the story, she went on to tell me that she works with a woman whose husband was flying from California to New York. Guess who was in the seat next to him...STEVIE! He said he talked to her the whole way, and she was so funny and told a whole bunch of stories. She even picked on the flight attendant because as he/she was leaving to check on the passengers, Stevie said "Hey, where are you going? I have more stories to tell!" And the best thing is, he thinks he is on the SAME flight AGAIN back to California, and if so, my mom told the lady to tell her husband to get an autograph for me and to ask about the new album. I'm SOOO hoping he's on the same flight again. It just absolutely made my day. I mean, how great would that be? Stevie sitting right next to you for five hours telling all kinds of stories. I wonder why she had to go to New York. Anyway, thought I would share. :wavey:

OMG!!!! I am sooooo jealous. And that's a long flight too. I can't imagine how totally awesome that would be. If it were me, I think I would just die. I hope he is on the same flight again. You'll have to find out what the stories were that she told him. that must have been very interesting.

What a lucky guy!

FiercestCalmSea 05-28-2002 06:01 PM

Oh yea duh...referring to the actual topic..that is damn cool that she was on a regular flight....did you happen to catch what airline,lol...

sulamith 05-28-2002 06:35 PM

Oh SNAP!

That is beyond star dust!

This kind of got me thinking.........

If any of us found ourselves in this situation, what would we do?
What would be better to do?
A - play it cool and sort of act like a casual fan, and get her talking, you know where she was real relaxed and more likely to be chatty,

OR,
B - let the full intensity of your admiration show?

Me, I would have to play it all down, because I would probably scare her to death and she would be sure I was coo coo for cocoa puffs.... Definetly option A for me!
I would get alot more info that way, which I would NEVER tell any of you guys, of course...............

After all, I couldn't betray my new best friend Stevie, could I? LMAO!!

That guy was so....lucky!

I guess no poochies came along this trip since she went commerical. They weren't running around the cabin, were they?

~omg!!!! that is sooooooooo not fair!!!if Stevie was sitting next to me, i would probably fait in her lap!! serisously!! omg..that is so narely!

Hehe, I'll have to get some details about the stories she told. As far as meeting Stevie goes, I pretty much have a good chance when Fleetwood Mac tours whenever they do. My connection unfortunately disconnected from society for a while over depression while the TISL tour was going on, so I didn't get to meet her then. But if and hopefully WHEN I do meet Stevie, I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do. My friend suggested finding out the airline and time Stevie is flying out, go to New York and get ON that plane, fly to California, then turn around and fly back to PA. I honestly would if I didn't have to work...the money wouldn't mean much to me to meet her and talk to her for that long. But again, I'll try to get more details.

omg! that's SO cool! i want to sit next to stevie on a plane for like 5 hours! lmao, knowing me, i'd spill something on her......

BellaDonnaGypsy 05-29-2002 04:56 AM

Cool! That's so amazing! You must find out about these stories... ;) I think I'd sit there in shock if I ended up next to Stevie on a plane. She would realise just how insane I really am if I opened my big mouth.

If it were me...

I would be begging Stevie to "Keep telling those stories"...Heheheh...Brian

Sorcerer386 05-29-2002 09:49 PM

A few wrong things

I got a few of those details wrong. My mom's coworker's husband WAS one of the flight attendants, not the person sitting next to her, but she DID keep talking to them through the whole plane ride. My mom said it was a red eye, and you know how Stevie doesn't go to sleep until like, the sun is coming up. So she just kept telling them stories. Didn't get any stories yet...I'm gonna email the guy because my mom has his address. The only other detail I have right now is that there was a lightning storm when Stevie was boarding the plane, and I guess the second she boarded, the lights went out. So everyone teased her about being a witch and making that happen. Hehe...but he said she is just the nicest lady and very funny. That's all I got for an update right now.

FiercestCalmSea 05-29-2002 09:51 PM

Hey i just figured out why Stevie was flying to NYC..she is doing a show at the Javits Center tomorrow w/ David Bowie..some convention thing...i just read this on another board and it clicked,lol..anyway i am kinda glad she is not joining Sheryl, cause at least i am not gonna miss anything, lol.

I think I'd pretend not to know who Stevie is, & then casually pull out my Christine McVie CD, pop it in my Walkman & sing quietly along with it.

Next thing is to apologize to Stevie: "I'm sorry for singing, but I always sing along to my Christine McVie album."

 I can only imagine the look she'd give you if you did that. Sorta like... "what planet is he living on?" ;)
