Song you heard on radio and were shocked...

I heard "Whenever I Call You Friend" on Friday at work, and just about fell off my chair into the floor! I NEVER hear that on the radio!! What song were you SHOCKED to hear on the radio? Also, they played Oh Well from the Live 1980 album on my classic radio station a few weeks ago, I cranked up that radio and JAMMED...and SCREAMED!! LOL

Probably the biggest surprise of something I heard on the radio was the day "Talk to me" was released...or not exactly released - KMET 94.7 in L.A. played it before the album was released, and I happen to record it that night, and found out the next day that they had pulled it from airplay - it was a studio demo that wasn't supposed to be played on the radio at all! When the album came out, it was a very different version. I gave copies to everyone I knew, and I suppose all of you have heard this alternate version by now, most likely the recording I made that night. Nothing like it happened again, although I had hopes of more demos...and I heard KMET got in trouble for playing that one.

i heard the oddest mac and stevie tracks on the radio, including album tracks and even b-sides (a thousand days...countless times).
still, no mystery there. i edited (or played) them all there myself.;)

Me too, Brian, I was at Wally World last month and heard the Dance version of Silver Springs, I didn't leave the frozen food section underneath the best speaker I could find, lip-synching along!

The first thing I do when I walk into a store or restaurant is listen intently for music of any kind. I'm freakish like that.:lol:

I also...

stayed in the frozen food section under the speakers until the song ended...I thought I was hullucinating when I heard Stevie in Wal-Mart...Brian

i've heard 'races are run' from the B/N album not too long ago. I had just gotten into my car and it was on and at first i thought i had a tape on but it WAS the radio. It was on some station in upstate NY that plays a lot of different stuff. Pretty neat!

alright...what a weird coincidence but i just submitted a post about half an hour ago and i just put the radio on and the same station i previously mentioned is playing "Station Man" (an older FLeetwood Mac pre Buckingham Nicks era)...Someone at this station must be a fan...

I heard it in Pier One! I was so excited! I also heard Planets of the Universe in Red Lobster!!! : )

I hear Stevie on the radio all the time...nothing too shocking though. Just the stuff you would expect to hear.

Where I'm from I'm pretty shocked to hear any FM/Stevie song. But I heard Angel once and Whenever I Call You Friend. Those were shockers. Second Hand News was a shock too.!

My biggest shock was when I heard Stand Back from The Chain box set...the live version. I was listening and I heard the beginning, and I was like, ooh, Stand Back...not a surprise, but at least they are playing Stevie. But then I thought, wait, this sounds a lot different, then I realized it was the live version from The Chain. My second biggest shock was when they played Twisted (the duet version) WAY after the 1996 release. In fact, that's what made me go out and buy the soundtrack, because I was like, this isn't good. There's a Stevie song on the radio that I don't know the words to. There's still many songs I don't know the words to because I don't listen to them, but if I hear them on the radio at least once, I run out and learn the song. Did the same thing with I Don't Want to Know.

I remember hearing Silver Springs(the original version) in the grocery store(Jewel for all you IL people) and stayed in the aisle and moved closer to where it was coming from so I could hear it clearer but then my mom came to get me!

I also "Whenever I call You a Friend" on the Radio and also "I Don't Want to Know" woke me up in the morning. I thought it was strange but they play a lot of songs that were never released(It's a classic rock station 97.1 The Drive in Chicago).
