VH1 Viva Diva Thingy.....and NO Stevie!
 

A big ol' raspberry to VH1 again.........

I just finished watching that Viva Diva Special hoping for a Stevie mention.........NOT!

She certainly fit their criteria

1. Great set of Pipes

2. Boy trouble

3. Wardrobe, well up until recently

4. Staying Power

5. Impersonators

6. Dramtic hand gestures

7. Personal problems, i.e. drugs

So I sat there while they went on and on about Celine, Whitney, Tina, Cher, Mariah, Mary J., Shania, Faith, ARETHA, and Gloria.

I know we have all said she is not like those ladies, because not a one of them really is a songwriter, but wouldn't it be cool for them to talk about her?
I just wanted a tiny little mention since she is going to be on the durn thing.

Shoot.

Anybody else see it?

Yup, I watched part of it. :rolleyes: Snoooooozefest. Same old "divas" over and over and over ad nauseum, nobody new, just like on every Divas Live, Whitney, Shania, Celine, Aretha, Diana, Mariah, etc...zzzz. I mean, I like Whitney's old stuff and Celine and Mariah CAN sing, but talk about some other "divas", VH1, cmon. :nod: There's Gwen Stefani, Stevie, Amy Grant, Dolly Parton, and many more singers who deserve some recognition. :D Give us some meat with our potatoes!!!! :laugh:

Did you guys not notice that the only people they DID talk about were the people who were already on a Diva's show? They didn't talk about people like Gloria Gaynor, Madonna, or even like, Christina Aguilera, all certifiable "divas" whether you like them or not.

I think I'm going to just write a post and save it on my computer, and every time I hear something negative towards VH1's promotion of Stevie, I'm just going to repost it.
