Mike Vernon RIP

I see that producer Mike Vernon-who played a big part in the band's early years- has passed.

He was huge in the beginning. RIP Mike.

This is a big loss in the Fleetwood Mac community. His liner notes for the band's The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions 1967–1969 were crucial in documenting some of the band's earliest work. He was also instrumental in putting the band on the map through Blue Horizon Records.

This is a sad loss. If it weren’t for Mike Vernon, it’s doubtful Fleetwood Mac would have gotten off the ground. He was immensely supportive of them and made it possible for them to pursue the projects they wanted to make.

And even more so, he’s responsible for getting Christine into the business. He pushed her to make that first solo album after Chicken Shack and knew what her capabilities were.

That part!

It seems Mick Fleetwood only recently learned of this, as he posted his message just yesterday. It's unusual because he always posts condolences promptly.

Probably he's been busy with his wedding preparations :) . Perhaps is it today?
