Ozzy has died

Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76, his family has announced.

I'm reading different things about the cause, many of them seem to be fake. They say there's even a video but apparently it's AI. Now that's being malicious, and should not be spread.

Very said. Thank goodness he made his final show. I cant imagine if he had passed before it. I saw Ozzy live in 1986. What a wild show it was. Back then they called him the Heavy Metal Liberace because he wore these designer studded clothes.
He was and will always be LEGEND. But he always seemed to find the best guitarists that took his talent to another level.

I read tributes from public figures that same day. Today Mick posted about him. He said he didn't know well but he commented they opened for Black Sabbath in the early 70s. Yes I've seen some festival posters with the two bands mentioned.

The ultimate rock trivia question is Fleetwood Mac and Black Sabbath shared the same vocalist. Name the singer.

(meaning the singer performed in both bands)

Dave "I need a" Walker.

I am biting my tongue not to say this but I can't help myself. But Sharon Osbourne is probably the worst person/manager/spouse that ever existed. Ozzy was extremely fortunate to come across Randy Rhodes. He almost didn't get hired because Randy was a bit feminine and dressed odd but Ozzy took a chance and boy did it pay off. Ozzy's solo career took off with Randy's incredible guitar playing. Go to youtube and listen to his guitar parts in isolation on Crazy Train, I Don't Know, Flying High Again, and Mr Crowley. Its freaking insane. But Randy died too early to find out how Sharon was. Jake E Lee had big shoes to fill and boy did he fill them. Not only was he almost as good as Randy in writing incredible guitar music but he also wrote lyrics. Jake debuted on Bark At The Moon and it was clear Ozzy's solo career was back in good hands. Jake wrote most of the music and wrote the popular songs. For the next album Ultimate Sin Jake again wrote most of the songs yet he was never given credit. Midway through the album Jake brought this to the attention of Ozzy and Sharon. Sharon told Jake that everything was recorded and they had no problem firing him and bring in a replacement to do his parts all over again. It meant Jack was blackmailed into staying. The album came out and Ozzy had again big success for songs his guitarist wrote but got no credit or royalties. At the end of the tour Sharon fired Jake and they brought in the next guitarist. Sharon as manager ruled with an iron fist. Her and Ozzy stole people's music and talent and gave them peanuts and no credit and no royalties.
I am not saying Ozzy did not have talent. He had great talent. But he sang and performed songs that others wrote for him. And Sharon made sure Ozzy got all the credit and fired guitarists that asked for credit and royalties for the music they wrote.

What is happening in July? Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Connie Francis, Ozzy, Hulk Hogan. And now Chuck Mangione!

Suddenly longing for a flannel shirt, a pair of baggy acid wash jeans, and a Malcom X hat.

I can’t help but notice my adolescence is ending.

Many including myself get Chuck Mangione and Herb Albert mixed up because they both had incredible cross over success on the pop charts about the same time. One of my all time favorite songs is Give It All You Got. Chuck was given the honor of writing a song for the 1980 winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. This song charted in the teens on the pop chart. It also was performed during the closing ceremonies at the Olympics which the United States stunned the world for taking the Gold in Ice Hockey beating the Soviet Union. I remember Eric Heiden winning 5 gold medals for ice skating racing. In those days they skated outside in the elements. It was winter 1980. This song takes me back. We used to sit around the radio in the morning to hear if our school was delayed or cancelled due to snow. This song would be on the radio with Sara. The heartache of Ty and Randy that year at the Olympics, Ted Kennedy running for president, Hostages in Iran, failed rescue attempts, Mt St Helens erupting, and Fleetwood Mac is on tour with their first hit of the 1980s, Sara.
This song takes me right back there to this time

If my mammary serves, Herb was at least a decade before Chuck. I'd say at least 15 years. Because I remember as a small child, my parents having a Herb album with a woman with whipped cream on the cover. Chuck was much later.

I knew Herb since his hit Rise (1979). I think he played in some Vikki Carr's songs, too (80s?). After that I learned he was a star since the 60s, he helped the Carpenters to impulse their career.

Chuck's Feel So Good is 1977, no far from Herb late 70s hits, that's why I used to confuse them.

Then Spyro Gyra with Catching the Sun in 1980, another beatiful song.

I saw a clip of the funeral. The marching band Playing Sabbath Bloody Sabbath during the procession gave me goose bumps. Looked like all of Birmingham was there.
