Ticket prices
I am not flaming Stevie because I am sure most if not all concert tickets are expensive. However when I got the email from Ticketmaster that Stevie was coming to the Hard Rock in Hollywood (near my house), I was curious what the ticket prices were. Anything in the first 20 rows is about $2500 per ticket. If you go to the first tier the tickets are about $1200. The cheapest tickets I saw on the last rows on the top tier were around $400 a piece. I really don't care because I was not going but good Lord prices are high. Stevie puts on a short predictable set too. When I saw her in 2016, I paid $400 for seats right next to the stage. I got to see her dog and her walking back stage. That ticket today would be $2000. In 9 years ticket prices have went up 5 times. Remember when cars were selling for $10k over MSRP and you say, who is buying these cars? I feel like that with concert tickets. This is why the performers wont give it up. At these prices, one summer tour can make you a fortune.

I have a friend who has relatives in Charlotte, and after watching Stevie will give a concert in october, I suggested her to go to visit her cousins and go to see Stevie. I told her I was kidding and commented concerts nowadays cost more than 1,000, good seats.
However I checked the Vividseats link and there are floor seats near the stage that cist $546 or less, though minimum 2 tickets per purchase. I frankly thought there would be much more expensive. |

What surprises me is that she’s not playing the Office Depot Center or American Airlines Arena - whatever they’re called now - which Fleetwood Mac played in. I guess the promoter doesn’t think she could sell 19,000 tickets in FL or Miami. She is playing the big arena in Tampa though. Stevie is touring nonstop now. I wonder if she’ll actually try for high notes for these prices or just reward the audience with 8 minutes of head shaking. |

The most I ever paid was $350, when Christine came back, and that was about 20 rows back, on the floor. I'd NEVER pay more than $500 to see ANYONE. The fact that people do, just shows how stupid people are, now.
Have I ever mentioned that Mirage, 5th row center, was $15? Google AI says that $15 in 1982 would be $45.47 in today's money. So what the actual fukc?!?! |
Why does a woman who is 77 years old and as rich as Croesus..
Need to keep raking the money in, anyway ? She should change the set ..a little …and perform in smaller more intimate venues.. I still wouldn’t go …but it would be a change and a challenge for her. |

However when you think about it, it does not seem right to increase prices just because a venue is smaller. That is not the fan's fault. I wonder if bands get some sort of perk playing Hard Rock. The promoters must guarantee a bigger profit or something. Buck/Vie was playing small theaters and I was looking forward to that. Instead they played Hard Rock. Its definitely convenient for the band because they have VIP hotel rooms right at the venue. |

Almost all the legends have played the Hard Rock Hollywood: Macca, Stones, Janet, Elton, Bruce, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Stevie last year, Eagles, Billy. Only U2 and Madonna come to mind as groups who haven't. I'm just surprised Stevie's people wouldn't go for the prestige of playing an enormous hockey or basketball arena. The one in Sunrise might be one of the biggest in the US. |

She's playing Barclays in Brooklyn the same night she was supposed to be in NJ with Billy. The prices are bananas for essentially, the exact same set list I saw at MSG pre-Covid.
I am sure she will have no issue selling that one out, assuming people have no problem paying those prices, but why would you? The same show is on YouTube right now  |

Stevie is all about Stevie... |
I have seen Fleetwood Mac 3 times. 1997, 2009 and 2014. Would I have liked to have seen them more times? Yes, in their prime, once per tour. However I never would have gone to see them on multiple dates during the same tour. Not even if I lived in the States or they showed up in my city more than once. But that’s me.
And I decided 2014 would be the last time. I decided it that same year, not in 2016. Not only because of the prices. Actually, I liked the 2014 show but their voices were no longer the same, and I considered that in the future it would no longer be worth going to see them. Keep in mind that in 1997 and 2014, I traveled to the US just to see Fleetwood Mac. There was no other reason. So actually I spent a lot more money than the ticket cost. (2009 was a business trip and the dates coincided). So in my case, it would be unfair to criticize someone who wants to pay more than a thousand for a ticket. Today I say I wouldn’t pay more than $500, but as I said, it’s because I think it's not worth it anymore. Besides I don't make as much money as I used to. I must also said that I’ve watched Moonstruck, GWTW, The Prince of Tides, The Godfather, Jurassic Park, Star Wars (original, VHS, Blu Ray, Special Edition, Streaming, etc, etc,), The Crown, Breaking Bad, etc… LOT of times, maybe thousands in some case. Yes many of them were for free, but my point is, if you don’t mind to spend the money and you want to do it, well good for you. It doesn't matter if you know by heart what's going to happen, the setlist, dialogues, whatever. If you think you’ll enjoy it, no matter that you see the same thing again, go ahead. |
2014 was my last time, too, not counting my two BuckVie shows. The firing of Lindsey was absolutely CRIMINAL, and I refused to support Old Goatsy's version of FM.
Even IF they brought Lindsey back now, Christine's gone. The band of my life is over. |
