Mick Fleetwood: I want a Fleetwood Mac reunion with all the former members Mick Fleetwood wants a Fleetwood Mac reunion with “everyone who’s ever played” in the band, after he recently reconciled with former bandmate Lindsey Buckingham. Mick Fleetwood wants a Fleetwood Mac reunion with “everyone who’s ever played” in the band. The 73-year-old music icon co-founded the ‘Chain’ hitmakers, and has said he’s keen to get the whole band back together once again, including all the musicians who have left the group over the years. He told the LA Times newspaper: “I hope the whole f****** lot of them! I’m not done. And if I can get John McVie off his boat, he’s not done either! “My English pipe dream, sitting on top of a mushroom, would be that everyone who’s ever played in Fleetwood Mac would be welcome. That’s what would drive me, because this is all about a collective.” Mick’s comments come after he revealed earlier this month he has reconciled with former bandmate Lindsey Buckingham, who was fired by the band in 2018 when Mick insisted the guitarist would never be allowed to rejoin the band. Admitting the pair had put the past behind them, Mick said: “I’ve really enjoyed being re-connected with Lindsey, which has been gracious and open. And both of us have been beautifully honest about who we are and how we got to where we were.” And when asked if he thinks Lindsey could rejoin the group, he added: “Strange things can happen. I look at Fleetwood Mac as a huge family. Everyone plays an important role in our history, even someone like [early ’70s] guitarist Bob Welch, who was huge and sometimes gets forgotten. “Lindsey’s position in Fleetwood Mac will, for obvious reasons, never been forgotten, as it should never be forgotten. “My vision of things happening in the future is really far-reaching. Would I love to think that [reunion] could happen? Yeah. I’d love to think that all of us could be healed, and also respect the people who are in the band, Neil Finn and Michael Campbell.” |

Oh I see the spin there...it's all about the "collective" so he can justify whatever hodgepodge of people he can round up to call "Fleetwood Mac"
If he wants to go the All Star Band route, that's great - don't call it Fleetwood Mac. There's hardly anyone left from the pre-75 lineups. Good luck getting Stevie onboard, although she might do it if she can negotiate the highest amount of money out of all of them. Which I'm sure she'll do because she's a legend after all. |
Oh so Fleetwood Mac still exists as a band with Mike and Neil? Last time I heard even they hadn't received that memo!
Mick lasted about 2 years after Christine's passing before rounding up the horses. That's longer than the Eagles waited after Glen Frey passed. I know - that's not saying much.. Sheryl Crow will sing the Christine material Mike will pop out for a few blues numbers with Billy Neil can sing the Crowded House fan favorites All sandwiched between the Buckingham Nicks drama review It's the Mick Fleetwood variety hour - coming to a casino near you! Wait...who am I kidding. Irving will turn this into a bloated, over-priced football stadium circus. |
An actual world tour would be logistically a nightmare… impossibility, even, I suspect. But a one night show would be awesome and a fantastic and appropriate way for the band to end.
Seeing Lindsey, Rick, Billy, Mick, John, Bekka, Neil, Mike, and Stevie one last time would be fascinating! Especially all that guitar yumminess! |
That greedy old son of a bitch.
Lessee, let's start with who's NOT ALIVE. Christine Bob Welch Bob Weston Peter Green Danny Kirwan Bob Brunning Brett Tuggle Mick's a pathetic loser. And Lindsey's not far behind, going back with his tail between his legs. |
What in the name of jumping Jehosaphat? :( Siiiiiigh.

Mick has no shame. |
I think this is mostly a rehashing if what he was saying in 2021.
I remember him floating this during an online FB chat with Dave Mason (which was awkward, because Mick seemed to hesitate about including Dave and Dave seemed hesitant to say yes). |

Mick Fleetwood Wants ‘Everyone Who’s Ever Played in Fleetwood Mac’ on Next Tour March 29th, 2021 11:08 AM Mick Fleetwood has a very ambitious idea for the next Fleetwood Mac tour, whenever that’s going to be. Fleetwood was asked in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times who would be part of the next Fleetwood Mac tour once the pandemic is over. Fleetwood responded with, “I hope the whole f—ing lot of them! I’m not done. And if I can get John McVie off his boat, he’s not done either. My English pipe dream, sitting on top of a mushroom, would be that everyone who’s ever played in Fleetwood Mac would be welcome. That’s what would drive me, because this is all about a collective.” Fleetwood’s “English pipe dream” might be just that. Fleetwood Mac, of course, is no stranger to drama. However, the last three years have been a very interesting time that saw Lindsey Buckingham fired from the band. Buckingham told Rolling Stone in October 2018 he was fired from Fleetwood Mac after Nicks allegedly gave the band a “him or me” ultimatum following the band being honored at the MusiCares Person of the Year gala in January 2018 where she was not pleased with some of Buckingham’s behavior. There was also an issue within the band regarding the start of Fleetwood Mac’s current tour. The band wanted to start in August, while Buckingham wanted to start in November to give him time to promote and tour in support of a solo album. Nicks would finally publically comment on the Buckingham situation for the first time in October 2020 in an interview with the Los Angeles Times saying, “I never planned for that to happen. Any time we re-formed to do a tour or a record, I always walked in with hope in my heart. And I just was so disappointed. I felt like all the wind had gone out of my sails.” The Los Angles Times noted, “Nicks is reluctant to discuss the details of that night [at the MusiCares gala], though she admits it was the ‘straw that broke the camel’s back.'” Nicks added, “I just felt like a dying flower all the time. I stayed with him from 1968 until that night. It’s a long time. And I really could hear my parents — I could hear my mom saying, ‘Are you really gonna do this for the rest of your life?’ And I could hear my dad saying in his very pragmatic way — because my dad really liked Lindsey —‘I think it’s time for you and Lindsey to get a divorce.’ It’s a very unfortunate thing. It makes me very, very sad.” Despite all of this, Fleetwood told Rolling Stone earlier this month that the July 2020 death of co-founder Peter Green led to him getting back in touch with Buckingham after not speaking for two years. “I’ve really enjoyed being reconnected with Lindsey, which has been gracious and open, and both of us have been beautifully honest about who we are and how we got to where we were,” said Fleetwood. Fleetwood also mentioned in that interview that he’s thinking about a potential farewell tour, likely once it’s safe to tour again following the coronavirus pandemic. He said, “I’m very aware that we’ve never played that card. I think the vision for me, and I think it would be hugely appropriate, is that we actually say ‘this is goodbye’ and go out and actually do that. That has always been my vision and I’m a flatly confident that we can do that. We owe it to the fans.” |

The only "we owe it to the fans" thay I've heard and agree was when Stewart Copeland said it so circa 2000, I guess it was in Behind the Music. Fortunately Police did reunite in 2007, a nice closure. |
