Rank the movie soundtrack songs

Blue Lamp - 1981 Heavy Metal Soundtrack

Sleeping Angel - 1982 Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Violet and Blue - 1984 Against All Odds

Battle of The Dragon - 1986 American Anthem

Twisted - 1996 Twisted soundtrack

Crystal - 1998 Practical Magic

If You Ever Did Believe - 1998 Practical Magic

My rankings:

1. Sleeping Angel - incredible song played at the most vulnerable time in a movie
2. Violet and Blue - pretty good for a Wild Heart left over
3. Battle of the Dragon - damn good for a RAL era song
4. Blue Lamp - excellent.
5. Crystal - I am in the minority but love her solo version
6. If You Ever Did Believe - Its a good song but despise the Sheryl Crow era
7. Twisted - I never cared for this song and was always surprised at Stevie's fuss about it

There were also If You Ever Did Believe and Crystal from Practical Magic, and My Hand (or something like that from a movie whose name I can’t remember LOL). I really do like If You Ever Did Believe.

Blue Lamp- so good. This song exemplifies Stevie for me, it’s intense, eerie, and out there. But really, this kind of song is actually not common for her.

Battle of the Dragon- hated it when it first came out and never listened to it again, but fell in love with it when I gave it a second chance on Enchanted. This is a really, really deep song.

Sleeping Angel- I like it.

Twisted- an ok song, but hearing Lindsey and Stevie singing together again elevates this song to a whole new level. Is this the first legit duet by these two?

Violet and Blue- it’s ok.

I knew I forgot something. I will edit and add it to the list.

1.Twisted- Buckingham/Nicks- Love it!
2.Sleeping Angel - Great vocal
3.Battle of the Dragon- a lot going on in this song
4. Violet and Blue/ Blue Lamp is a tie both solid songs
5.If you Ever Did Believe- I was happy to finally get an official release of this song
6.Someone Stand by Me- I like when she goes a little bluesy.
7.Touched by an Angel- ok song
8.Crystal- a very nice version of this but I prefer Lindsey on the lead.
9.Your hand I will never Let it Go- nice vocal

Touched by an Angel: Sweet November
Your Hand I Will Never Let it Go: The Book of Henry
Edge of Seventeen: School of Rock

1. Sleeping Angel
2. Blue Lamp
3. Twisted (though I like the demo version on Enchanted best)
4. If You Ever Did Believe
5. Battle of the Dragon
6. Touched by an Angel (wish the verses had better lyrics, or at least lyrics that rhymed)
7. Violet and Blue (kinda generic hard rock sound)
8. Your Hand I Will Never (I like this quite a bit, but she had no ‘hand’ in writing it)
9. Crystal (could’ve been great with a softer vocal, but she belts the whole thing which takes away its mystery)

Somebody Stand By Me and Sorcerer(she sings with Minnie Martin) too

Hear, hear! A complex, multi-layered song/recording. There's resignation, determination, and interrogation all rolled up into one.

Violet and Blue (that vocal just growls)
Crystal (Benmont saves this one)
Sleeping Angel (recollects a time and a place)
If You Ever Did Believe (good guitar and chorus)
Blue Lamp (first solo song she ever released)
Battle of the Dragon (the idea is there, especially the demo with Petty, but they never managed to incorporate everything they should have)

Its a song that you appreciate more when you read the lyrics as they are sung. You cant make out all the words all the time. You can see and feel the depth of the song as it weighs on you. I do agree with David its final form was not enough. It sounds very demo. I would have liked a drum track added and then chorus sped up with the drumming and then back down. But in its rawness its good but an outstanding lyrical song.
