"I Can't Wait" single version on new compilation album.
The single version started much differently than the album version.
Instead of beginning with the girls screaming "I can't wait," it begins with chimes before the drums kicked in. And the girls sing "yes I know you" twice. This version was on top 40 radio and on the 7 inch vinyl single. Is this version on the CD of the new "Stand Back" compilation? On the Google Play Music streaming version of the song from the new compilation, it's just the album version. As far as I know, the "single" version has never been released on CD or digital. |

Jondalar, ok thanks. Bummer as I really wanted to hear that version.

"Stand Back" was the album version, so was "I can't wait," and the others labeled "single version." I noticed "Talk to me" has a fresher mix. But none are different versions. It is truly lame. I loved that version of "I can't wait," so much that, back in the day, I dubbed that version onto a cassette I made for "Rock A Little, I use to record my vinyl records on cassette to play in the car. |

The version of “I Can’t Wait” included on the new single CD release IS the single edit which starts with the chimes. Google play is, for some reason, using the album version. And I suspect it’s the album version on the 3 CD release looking at the running times. |
On the CD release Edge of Seventeen, Leather & Lace, Stand Back, I Can’t Wait, Blue Denim and Maybe Love are ALL the single/radio mixes. It appears that the 3 CD set uses the album versions.

Jondalar, did YOU buy the 3 CD set of her new compilation after weeks of saying you were. NOT buying it?

Have a look at this thread, which Jondalar has seen and replied to but clearly not actually taken a speck of notice to. This details which versions of the songs are included with the new single CD physical release. http://fleetwoodmac.net/ledge/showthread.php?t=58638 |

Johndalar SOMEHOW got the 3 CD set(that isn't released yet). Absolutely zero credibility, and proves it with a clear lie! :wavey: ZERO |

The physical single CD version however includes all the single edits and remixes. I just find it amusing that Jondalar has replied to a thread which clearly lists the versions on the single disc version from multiple posters and yet still thought we were all wrong and/or lying. Either that or completely ignored what was being said. I'll let you decide  |

Interestingly, the single remix was also included on a Time Life compilation called "Classic Drive: Cruisin'" (which is where I originally got it from).
But this marks it's first proper release on any official Stevie release singe it's original 7" release. |
