New boxset - what's missing?
Hi all,
As news of the new Stevie solo boxset is dividing opinion, I thought it might be interesting to see what everyone would have liked to have been included but wasn't. Here's a few I think are missing from Stevie releases: Mirror Mirror Real Tears At Last (live) Bombay Sapphires (original version) My Heart (TISL version) Edge of Seventeen (from VH1 Storytellers) Stand Back (live version - iTunes Crystal Visions bonus track) Listen To The Rain (Jon Bon Jovi produced version) Planets of the Universe (full TISL outtake version) Any of the Glyn Johns Street Angel mixes God's Garden & Inspiration I Can't Wait (single remix) The Nightmare (12" remix) Twisted (soundtrack Version) Call On Me For Magic Space Needle In terms of standard studio and album tracks, I would've included the below: Outside The Rain Bella Donna Wild Heart Beauty and the Beast No Spoken Word Ooh My Love Doing The Best I Can Street Angel Trouble In Shangri-La Fall From Grace In Your Dreams 24 Karat Gold |
Inspiration - probably the best song on Street Angel and it never made the final album
Moonlight - the concert version Midnight Wind - Best harmony vocal anywhere by anyone Forest of Black Roses - cleaned up Demo Mistaken Love - cleaned up Demo 3 Birds of Rhiannon - cleaned up Demo Trouble in Shangri la - the best track from that album Night Gallery - cleaned up Demo Have No Heart - cleaned up Demo If you were my love Mirror, Mirror Belle Fleur 24k Gold Outside the Rain Still of the Night live version Bella Donna The Wild Heart If I Were you Songs I wish should take off - Blue Denim Circle Dance You’re not the one Sorcerer Two kinds of love Rock and Roll live All the Fleetwood Mac live stuff |

(I love the Blue Denim single remix though, so hoping and preying that it's both single remixes included and not just Maybe Love) Oh, another one to add. I forgot about this. Shakey coked out vocal but it's a great alternate to the standard version and hard to track down these days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbuyNSWoc7o |
Why do any work when you can just fleece the people again? Not even a single unreleased song, an original album title or rare picture for the cover. They couldn't have just pulled an obscure lyric from one of her songs for the title?! They went with Stand Back?!!? This is lazy beyond belief! This, to me, is proof that she won't record anything new unless she is featured on someone else's song so she doesn't have to write or do any heavy lifting. Although she is 70, so I'm not sure I should be expecting anything different than what she's serving these days. :(

Julia needs to be officially released, even if on a compilation like this.

1. The sheer amount of output she has that remains completely unreleased. 2. Her money-driven focus on the music industry and making money, especially post-TISL 3. "I won't record with Fleetwood Mac until Christine comes back"....*Christine comes back*...."I won't record with Fleetwood Mac". 4. The constant milking of her and Lindsey's relationship, even though it has clearly been dead in the water for years. Talk about flogging a dead horse. 5. Her contradictions, dreadful memory and complete lack of awareness of huge chunks of her career, but we can in part blame the coke and klonopin for that. 6. Her complete disregard of huge chunks of her solo career. RAL through to SA never get acknowledged, I'm at least thankful she included tracks from all 3 albums on her new compilation. 7. Her HUGE ego. Lindsey is equally as bad for this. I still love Stevie and love her music, but I can't say I've never felt disapointed by some of her choices. The latest compilation is no exception, there is just SO MUCH potential for a Stevie boxset but it's just not fulfilled here. FOR GODS SAKE WOMAN, remaster the rest of your solo career! |
