Upbeat version of Stand Back?
It seems to me that the Stand Back version on the original album & compilations is a LOT slower than the "videoclip version". With the guys dancing with the light coming from the back, etc. Is that a remix? A single version? Where can one get a high quality official version? O_o;

twinmatrix,
What "video clip version" are you referring to? There are lots of lots of live performances of "Stand Back." nicolasjz, I don't think twinmatrix is referring to the Chris Lord Alge remix because that remix is derived from the album version. The album version (Wild Heart original and Chris remix on Timespace) are both 115 beats per minute. On both the WH and RAL tours, the song remained closer to the original beat per minute but since the Tango in the Night tour (Mick described Stand Back on that tour as "blistering") the song has been performed at a much faster pace, clocking in at 127 beats per minute. Just my own personal note, I've never cared for Stand Back live that much since the Tango tour. It's too fast and it doesn't show case her voice well. It sounded much better on the WH and RAL tours where it allowed Stevie to really get into vocally. It had some grit. |
Wow, the version on Time Space is this one?!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gSKeCvSCpw I always felt the MV version is much faster. Weird. For sure though the Enchanted version & Original album is slower somehow. |
The TimeSpace version is a remix but it's the same "beat per minute" (same "pace") as the original version that is on "Wild Heart" and the "remastered version" that is on "Enchanted."
The TimeSpace version maybe just seem faster to you because of the fact it was remixed and it does have more of an "amped" up sound, but trust me, all 3 are the same beat per minute. Again, only since the Tango tour has it become the fast paced "blistering" version clocking in at 127 beats per minute, which is must faster than the 3 versions mentioned above. |
