Bella Donna sales figures?

How close is this to becoming 5x platinum? It feels like it should be certified by now.

I believe that happened a long time ago.

With next year being the 35th anniversary, I would love to see a remastered reissue, with bonus tracks ("Julia", "A Bit Of Golden Braid", "Blue Lamp") and maybe a (finally!) newly recorded version of "I Need To Know" with the Heartbreakers!

And a remastered DVD of the full HBO concert.

Oh yes...that would be amazing releasing the entire concert......Blue Lamp, Bella Donna, Leather and Lace, etc. Now that would be something to wish for only to be out done by a full Mirage concert being released.
This would be so simple I would think. I assume the footage is still there. Its crazy back in the 80's they butchered concerts so they could conveniently fit within 60 minutes. The 81 Stevie concert and 82 Mac concerts were pre-floating camera and pre-lip syncing that was on Red Rocks and Tango. Those early concerts are so much better in that you are getting the REAL thing.

My speciality! I believe that Bella Donna was certified 5xPlatinum some years ago and for some reason it was removed from the RIAA database.

It has DEFINITELY sold over 5 million copies in the US, possibly 6 million but the RIAA haven't certified anything of Stevie's since Trouble in Shangri-La.

My personal belief is that Bella Donna sold over 4 million from between 1981-82 because it was high on the charts for over a year which means strong sales for a long period of time.

I think that the RIAA should certify Bella Donna AT LEAST 5xPlatinum, maybe 6xPlatinum and Crystal Visions Gold because we know for a fact that it sold over 505,000 copies way back in May 2014. :)

I take this occasion to thank you deeply for your knowledge James, you're a great source of important, useful and interesting informations for this fandom.

I found a couple of sources that said it was certified 5x platinum in October 2004, but you're right....I couldn't find it on the RIAA site.

It was 5x but then riaa said it was a mistake and took it back. The nicks fix didn't buy it and kept it 5x. Very weird.

Thank you! I have a fascination with chart positions and sales figures so whenever anyone brings up the subject I'm only happy to contribute!

I'm really not sure why the RIAA took down the certification, very strange.

I wish there was a way of finding out approximate sales from the 80's because I don't know how many copies Stevie's four albums from that decade sold, we only have the certifications to go off unfortunately.

This was posted in 2012.

BELLA DONNA: Now there's a title we don't see much (or at all) on any of the Catalogue Charts!! Stevie's 1981 debut album in it's second week on the Top 200 Catalogue Physical Albums Chart is at #136 this week up from #173 last week on at 12% sales increase. The album sold 1,115 units in the US during the sales period vs 996 albums in the previous week. Total album sales in the US since 1991 when Soundscan began tracking sales = 860,494.

It was certified 4x platinum in January of 1990. It's vey close.

Her 70th birthday will be coming up soon.
Maybe they'll give us a deluxe set to celebrate.

I have contributed considerably to her sales figures.

My Bella Donna guesstimate,

2 vinyl copies.
3 (or more) CD's.
2 cassettes.

Not counting the promo items.

Speaking of birthdays. I already know what I'm getting
Stevie for her 70th. A case of Mick's fine wine.

Ok, so it has probably sold over 900,000 copies by now since 1991 but I'm certain that it sold way over 4 million copies between 1981 and 1991. Therefore it should be certified AT LEAST 5xPlatinum. :)

I would love for Stevie/Stevie's team to put out a deluxe set or remastered solo albums with bonus tracks for her 70th! But then again I'm still holding my breath for Buckingham Nicks on CD!
