Re-sequencing Tusk

While I admire the music of Tusk, it's never been the ideal listening experience for me because of how jarring some of the transitions sound to me.

Now that the album has been reissued, it got me to thinking what my ideal Tusk playlist would be (without sacrificing any of the songs). However, I have added one, the demo of "The Farmer's Daughter" from the 2004 reissue, because I've always felt that the album really needed more harmonies from all 3 singers.

Even though my version will never be on vinyl, I have taken into account how much music an LP could hold per side (I'm a little obsessive). Some of the single-LP Tusk playlists I've seen probably wouldn't fit on vinyl, given the length of the Stevie epics.

Anyway, below is my Tusk. I'm wondering if you've already come up with your own. Would love to see!

Sara
Tusk
Never Forget
Storms
That’s Enough for Me

I Know I’m Not Wrong
Honey Hi
Beautiful Child
Walk a Thin Line
Not That Funny

Angel
Over & Over
What Makes You Think You’re the One
The Farmer’s Daughter (Tusk demo)
Never Make Me Cry
Save Me a Place

The Ledge
Think About Me
Sisters of the Moon
Brown Eyes
That’s All for Everyone

The first time I heard it the day it came out, I didn't understand the whole album. I was freaked out by it. But I didn't want to judge it before I made some sense out of it. In three months it became my most played record of all time. (Duh, I was 14 ). But it still is. Resequencing means nothing to me. It's edged in my soul the way it is. As an entity, like looking at life from different perspectives, but through the same window.

The songs on TUSK are so varied that I don't think it matters much how they are sequenced. If I would change anything......I would start the album with Think About Me. That song and Sara are probably the only songs that sound like the Rumours Fleetwood Mac. It would start the album with a familiar Fleetwood Mac and catch the listener's ear before the journey of songs. I am also always in favor of an up-tempo song to start off any album. I also would put The Ledge on side 4. Its a bit quirky for early in the album. But I know that is why Lindsey put it on so early.

After listening to this album since its release I would change nothing about the sequence of the songs........Its a masterpiece. This Box set is truly amazing!
