Of all 3 shows I've been to in this Australian tour, last night's show was by far the best in terms of group chemistry and performances. It was without a doubt the best Rhiannon and Sara I've ever seen (in person). The crowd were absolutely loving it, not s single person sat down, a far cry from the 2 Sydney shows I went to where I think I was the only one standing up! (And annoying people). Having a concert in a winery which allows people ready access to wine while watching support acts is definitely one way to get an audience in the mood! It rained for quite a bit but if anything it added to the experience (it reminded me of being at a British festival actually...). All band members seemed in such great spirits, I really hope this is not only genuine, but stays until the end of the tour so they end on a high note.

Wow ! What a fantastic night . Seen the Mac many times and always brilliant . But this show was extra special for me because it was my first outdoor show . Without sounding like a drunk i must say being at a winery and with pretty much 20,000 or more people drinking wine and lots of it just made it so relaxing and fun . Everyone stood and danced the whole show and with the rain pouring at some stages it just made it magic . Chris stuffed up the first line of Songbird but that made it special ;) stevie and rest of band gave it everything as usual ! Loved every second of it . Every song was a highlight . God bless you FM .

Yes I noticed the slight stuff up on the opening line of songbird, I also remember Lindsay hurting his hand on big love which affected his playing of it (slightly)

Did they say anything about Paris?

It would be appropriate. Stevie should dedicate Landslide to the victims or something.

The term "stuff up" is culturally unfamiliar to me! I assume the meaning is similar to "screw up."

The grey sky that hung over Hope Estate on Saturday evening eventually fulfilled its promise of rain.STILL HOT: The weather wasn’t kind, but Fleetwood Mac still packed them in over two nights at Hope Estate – and the magic that made them one of the world’s powerhouse live bands over the last four decades was still there for all to see.

But it would take more than a downpour and cold wind to dampen the *spirits of 19,000 Fleetwood Mac fans, who danced and sang to a marathon 23-song set.

The legendary rock band were fulfilling a promise of their own - returning to Australia after cancelling a 2013 national tour due to founding member and bassist John McVie’s cancer diagnosis.

Luckily he recovered and remains in the band.

It was also the first time in 16 years that co-vocalist, keyboardist and songwriter Christine McVie had been a member of the group.

As night fell, Fleetwood Mac opened the Hunter leg of their On With The Show tour with four tracks from their landmark recording Rumours – rocker The Chain, the Christine McVie performed and penned You Make Loving Fun, Second Hand News and Dreams.

Then it was time for Rhiannon, a song likely responsible for the names of the all the Rhiannons in attendance.

It was evident that this classic five-piece line-up, which transformed Fleetwood Mac from a blues band into a pop-orientated juggernaut with their eponymous 1975 debut record, remain a tight, seamless live unit.

A stand-out moment was the stripped-back acoustic performance of Landslide by guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and sorcerous singer Stevie Nicks.

Also memorable was an extended heavy, spacey rendition of I’m So Afraid in which guitarist Lindsey Buckingham stretched out into an epic guitar solo, showing off his distinctive finger-picking style.

The jaunty instrumental Tusk received a rapturous response, and Little Lies and Go Your Own Way made everyone forget they were wrapped in plastic ponchos and braving the elements.

The first encore contained pop-hit Don't Stop and the anthem Silver Springs, before a closing second encore of Lindsay Buckingham and Christine McVie on Songbird.

But aside from the polished performance and stream of classic songs was evidence of a band that, despite their colourful and tumultuous history, still manages to hone in on the chemistry that makes them one of the most loved acts in music history.

They remain a joy to watch.

THE hairlines have changed, so too the facial lines that come with four decades on stage, but not the music which was as sweet as ever.

Despite light showers, almost 30,000 people saw Fleetwood Mac light up Hope Estate Winery in the Hunter Valley during the weekend. The grass might have been soggy, and ponchos the preferred attire, but few left disappointed after the two hour performances on Saturday and Sunday nights which kept many in the huge crowds on their feet all night.

Led by Stevie Nicks in platform heels and Mick Fleetwood, the band ran through their many hits including Rhiannon, Tusk, You Make Loving Fun, Landslide, Little Lies and World Turning which featured an epic Fleetwood drum solo.

I was going to post a thread in the chit chat about the Paris Attacks for us to leave messages but declined because I got worried it might turn political.I an surprised that the Mac did not say anything about the attacks during the show or at the end with Mick's and Stevie's closing speeches.I wonder if they were in shocked hearing about it at first.After it sinks in their heads .Maybe they will say something at Wednesdays show.I sure hope so.

Why should that be of any matter? They are there to entertain; offering their audience a brief escape from the world outside. Mick's usual parting sentiments, with the France flag in the background (with the shape of France cut on the end) says it all. It's very classy, subtle way of acknowledging the tragedy. Anything they have to say has already been said over and over.
