That was more than a decent cover! They took ownership of it, and I can't believe I am saying this as I'm not a fan of covers either. Sister Hazel did solid cover way back when, during the Legacy/tribute album, but these folks totally captured the atmosphere of the song. They were feeling it and selling it! The wailing was spot on. I'd buy it. Thank you for posting it. I'd probably would have never heard it, otherwise. It's great to know someone can perform the song the way it was meant to be done, especially as our band gets older. Rock on Grace Potter.

Besides being a great songwriter in his own right, Warren Haynes of Gov’t Mule and the Allman Brothers Band is also a great song interpreter. Both of those skills are on display on his latest album, Ashes and Dust, which came out earlier this year.

Most of the album is made up of Haynes’ originals, but it also features a cover of the Fleetwood Mac cover “Gold Dust Woman.”

Carter Allen was playing it often back in September
