Why is no one talking about the new Life magazine about Fleetwood Mac?
 

Apparently it's all about the band. I'm surprised that no one brought it up yet.

that first pic looks like it might have been taken during the Tusk rehearsals..rehearsals were held in a large soundstage, and there were lots of bicycles around for burning off some energy or boredom during breaks. Both Lindsey's and Stevie's hair are from the Tusk era. The "abc" logo in the background on the fence looks like it was on a studio lot.

Agreed, plus Christine was playing a lot of guitar around that time.

I cannot find the magazine at my Barnes and Noble, does anyone know where it is? I see a life magazine about Abraham Lincoln and one about secret societies, but no Fleetwood Mac. Can anyone help?

I stopped at the market after work and I saw a copy as I was ready to check out. Of course, I bought it not realizing it was all about Fleetwood Mac and $13.99 - just finished it and worth every penny. A very nice surprise this evening.. :nod:

So I bought it tonight at Barnes and Noble. Great photos. Many are new to my eyes.

The text was decent--until it wasn't. Ken Caillat's assessment of Tusk as a musical failure is taken as an unchallenged truth. Likewise, his bashing of Mick, Stevie, and Christine as crazy coke-heads is pretty rude. Carol Ann Harris's Storms is quoted frequently as a reliable, unbiased source. And there are plenty of snide remarks about the band's excesses, courtesy of J.I. Baker, who doesn't have a clear point of view about his subject, alternating between awe and derision.

The text won't do any damage among us hardcore fans. But it will further perpetuate the myths and stereotypes about these musicians in the eyes of the general public. Subpar journalism.

Wow that's dissapointing. I still want the magazine for the pictures, I'll be at an airport next week I hope I can find it there.

I found it odd that they used such an old pic as the cover photo, not sure if it's Rumors or Mirage...but a recent photo would have been more appropriate. They're still a working, relevant band. Why freeze them in time like that with a super old photo??
