Robin Anderson Gofundme journal

Is this legit?

http://www.gofundme.com/steviesjournal

I couldn't find a thread related to this on the Ledge...sorry if it was posted somewhere else...

seems like very little money has been raised... If Matthew wanted this book so badly I would think Stevie would do anything she could to make sure his family gets this....although the estate gave Stevie the chance to buy the book back and she refused according to the ebay listing... Maybe she does want to let go of the past....she obviously let go of the book at some point, so in some way she has let go of Robin....it seems she has picked up the pieces and has moved on...

Thoughts?

It certainly looks legit, but I cannot imagine Matthew would be hurting for money. Stevie supports how many godchildren? And even if Stevie refused to purchase the book (sounds like the seller offered it to her almost like a kidnapper's ransom), she could have gotten it to him obliquely if she wanted. Also, it certainly seems possible there is more than one copy of this book- maybe Kim and Matthew got one, and Herbert Worthington kept the rough draft? I personally would not have anything to do with this. Gofundme's can be created by absolutely anyone, with no verification of authenticity.

On another note, I can't believe how much Matthew looks like his father!

I noticed that too. It's almost eerie how much he looks like his father.

It is legit and they started a "go fund me" page so Matthew can buy it from the person who has it for $9k+...what he/she actually paid for it via HWWIII estate sale. I don't get it. Stevie Nicks cant just buy the book back for the kid? Matthew has a facebook page and its all over his page. I find it very strange that between all the people he knows, clearly the entire FM clan, they can't come up w/9k to just resolve the issue privately??? The page is legit but the reason for a "go fund me" page for this issue is beyond strange to me.

Are there more photos of the journal somewhere?

Stevie Journal of Robin Anderson - Ebay

This just happened - Supposedly this came from Herbert Worthington's estate.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/c-1982-STEVI...item58c7d2cf22

According to some sources I read, Matthew is trying to get the book back. It ended up in the hands of a collector.

I think it's safe to say Stevie would be pissed.

Thanks for the link. It was an interesting view. Someone
got themselves a real collectors item, if real. For 15,000 it
better be real.

I don't know any of the details besides what I read on here.
I do believe I recognized that sellers i.d.

There are several threads on this...

All the beautiful worlds

Go fund me journal

Stevie was given the chance to go through the HW estate so she could see if there was anything she wanted, also the ebay poster said that they contacted Stevie about purchasing the journal and she declined...

It looks like the go fund me was not set up by Matthew but by people claiming to be his friends 2 days after the ebay auction ended...
If you remember almost as soon as HW's passing was made public Herbert's nephew Bobby started a "Go fund me" saying he needed $$$ for burial expenses for his uncle...Some of you were foolish enough to donate...Not long after this a statement was issued letting people know that Stevie was personally making sure that things were being handled properly...

It's all here...
Herbert Worthington has passed away...

Just remember that anyone can set up a "Go fund me" so think twice before donating...
If any of you like to give you hard earned $$$ away to things that look like they may be a "good cause" let me know so I can start a "Go fund me" just because...

krrrby 08-08-2015 02:45 PM

Okay - did you actually look at Matthew Anderson's Facebook? He actually posted the link in his timeline for the GoFundMe project and encouraged his friends for help on this. I don't think it's a BS donation or someone claiming to be his friend.

And I seriously doubt something that prolific and heartfelt to Steve, that she would decline that book. It doesn't add up.

And I didn't realize this was already in another thread - my apologies - for some reason I can only see the first page of threads -- if someone wants to close this that's fine.

When you're in the Stevie forum
go down to the bottom of the page
and change how far back the posts you're viewing goes.
default is 2 weeks ... :D

We don't know how much $$$ it was offered to her for.

Do you really think money would be a factor ? La Nicks has said that she has not looked at a price tag in 40 years and the endless round of cash grab tours must be putting her personal fortune near the 100 million milestone by now.

I absolutely believe it could be a factor. I don't care
what she's worth financially, I doubt she likes being taken
advantage of.

It could have been offered to her at an extremely exorbitant
price, almost like a ransom. And she turned it down. I don't
blame her.
