RRHOF petition

I would have voted happily if it were free, money petitions stink of scam.

How come no one tries to get her a solo star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I think that could probably be successful.

Signing was free for me. Maybe you clicked something wrong?

It is free

After I gave my personal data appeared just the options for the money donations, how do I know if my vote has been counted?

Back in the late 1980's, fans affiliated with the 'Rumours' fanzine started a petition, but nothing came out of it.

My understanding is that it costs 10's of 1000's of dollars to have a star made, to have it actually embedded on the sidewalk, to have the event publicized and held, and so forth. Plus, the Walk of Fame stars have to paid for by someone (usually the celebrity's manager, film/record company, publicist, etc.).

So if Stevie's 'people' aren't interested and aren't willing to foot the bill, it won't happen. :distress:

Crowdfunding anyone?

I would gladly pay $150+ towards crowdfunding her HOF, if the campaign was legit. I'm not even joking. I think it's an embarrassment to the HOF that she's not in it. But I doubt money is an issue for her?

I'm probably the only fan who feels otherwise. She just didn't have much of a cultural impact with her solo career. All of her solo albums combined don't even add up to 1/4 of Rumours' sales. Yes, her solo career is a huge part of her legacy... but it's a combined legacy that is an offshoot of the fame she built within FM.

The RRHOF doesn't have a whole lot of respect from me, anyway. It's really just a money-seeking venture that routinely disenfranchises worthy acts for those who will garner more publicity and cash. Not to mention there is a truly massive gender bias in regards to inductees, too. Stevie doesn't need that smarmy enterprise to validate her legacy.

I agree. The true legacy Stevie leaves us are her words... And style!

Not that a lot, if not all of that is true. but you speak of the hall of fame as if it's this exclusive club for only the most influential and important artists of all time. When in reality, anyone who's ever sang or played an instrument seems eligible to be in the hall of fame. People with way less sales then her solo career are in the hall of fame.

And the cultural impact has gone up up 100 percent because of her work with veterans that she's done for over a decade but has only really came to light to the public in the past year. Now she doesn't do that to look good to the hall nor is that why I'm proud of her for the work she does with veterans, but that's something that can't be ignored as cultural impact.

I also feel her collaboration on the sound city album and tour is her most relevant collaboration of her career. And her last 2 solo albums probably sold the best of any new material album from all of her female peers (0bviously using a curve here, but you really have to these days) or any of her peers really.

So again if this was truly a hall of fame reserved for the absolute best of the best and only those whose impact is so much more important then all other artists then ok, stevie doesn't need to be inducted twice. Being included with fleetwood Mac is enough. But in reality, the hall isn't that exclusive and stevie has had the best secondary career as a solo artist outside of a Beatle or Neil Young (I guess solo would be his primary career tho) playing amphitheaters as recently as 2011. Did she ride fleetwood macs coattail to achieve that? Absolutely! But she rode them very we'll and I'm sure 25 to 50 percent of the rock and roll hall of fame has rode someone else's coat ails to get to where they are. Based on their standard stevie absolutely deserves to be the first woman 2 time inductee!

And Joan Jett did? LOL
I Love Rock & Roll was her one big hit that still gets radio airplay.

Cherry Pie only lets the world know that she's a happy Lesbian and her cover of Crimson & Clover is nothing special to my ears.

Stevie songs that still get a lot of airplay are Stand Back, Edge of 17, Stop Draggin' & Leather & Lace.
