Law and Order poll

This board has been quiet lately, so I wanted to liven it up with some polls, building on Elle's post about favorite songs on each album. First is Law and Order. Since there's only 10 options allowed, I had to eliminate a song. I chose It Was You (edit- whoops, meant It Was I), since, when looking back at past results/comments, that seemed to have the fewest favorites. So vote up to three of your favorite Law and Order songs!

For my three, I went with That's How We Do It in LA, Love from Here, Love from There, and A Satisfied Mind. I also love I'll Tell You Now and Bwana. I'm one of the rare ones whose favorite Lindsey album is L&O.

Ha, I was going to make "It Was You" one of my songs!

Whoops! It was between that and Mary Lee Jones, but I saw that someone had listed that as a favorite before.

I think Elle made a mistake and wanted to vote for Trouble.

In this order:
1. Shadow of the West
2. Bwana
3. Trouble

When I read the poll it asked me to pick the ones I liked. When I read the comments I see you were only requesting three.

No problem! I'll specify three in the title next time. My first poll. :D

great idea too, thanks for putting it together.

even when you specify how many choices peeps should check right upfront, many just don't see it or disregard it... so no big deal!

I'm pleasantly surprised that the "survey says" That's How We do it in L.A. is so popular. Yay.

I'm not a Trouble fan either. Sounds out of place on the album to me. I can't watch the video for it; it freaks me out seeing Lindsey look like David Hasselhoff.

And I'm happy to put this together! I always look through the older posts and it seems there used to be a lot more polls.

Me too! That was actually one of the ones I considered dropping since it didn't seem to get that much attention in the past.

So was I! I love that one. I opted for BWANA, SATISFIED MIND, and . . . oh jeez once again I can't remember where my third vote went.

Well, you're a tad bizarre, but we love you.

I was thinking how I don't rate L & O high among the albums and I thought of you and how you would probably rate it as #1, so things even themselves out.

To me it's the ... let's use the directing career of Orson Welles as an example. "Law and Order" is the "Citizen Kane" of Lindsey's solo career. Not only is it the first, but it's the most youthful in spirit and daring. You can find great parts in later Welles films and later Buckingham albums—some bits even greater and more complex psychologically than anything in "Kane" or "Law"—but these two works were "nonce" lexemes: When they appeared, they bore the least resemblance of all their respective creators' works to anything else on the scene. "Law" is Lindsey's "Kane" because of its joyous overuse of the potentialities of the medium. Lindsey bounces around from one sound idea to another, constructing and deconstructing like an ebullient madman who's never been told "NO!" To him, at that time, everything seemed possible. And who knows? Everything was possible. "Law" and "Kane" are iconoclastic; they break down genres and put the broken shards of artistic styles through a kaleidoscope. "Law and Order" is Buckingham's Magical Mystery Tour.
