Good!
Since when Lana Del Rey is considered rock?

mitzo 01-24-2015 12:46 PM

So this is based on sales? I wonder how many units sold, then?

Not many, you have to remember that album sales suck. Only a few albums went platinum. It's really bad year..

Right, I haven't listened to her album but from her single I deduce that her music is mostly produced by synthesizer or other studio electric instruments.
I'm not good with genres and classifications, maybe she's synth pop?
Not that I really care but I'm curious...

They must classify both her and Lana by their "fringe" success, meaning they're not entirely mainstream, and do not conform to modern music business ideals, and are not really "bubble-gum pop" if you will. Though heavily influenced by pop sounds, in comparison, their styles could be considered alternative "rock."

Stevie's album shares great company, rating just under Paul McCartney's excellent album.

Aside from those two, there were five other artists whose albums I purchased:

Black Keys
Foster the People
TomPetty
Vampire Weekend
Neil Young

Which ones can you claim?

Jondalar 01-24-2015 05:51 PM

Had Stevie been able to promote her album it would of done a lot better.

Besides Ms Nicks None above purchased here but I'll look into some of the older artists like the Boss ,Tom Petty,Pink Floyd,Neil Young and Paul who.Whos that.

Today's age of music .There is no such word as a music gender. Its all merged together into a big clump.
