New Live CD/DVD
 

I sure hope the MAC releases a CD/ DVD of this tour. I'm sure it's the last tour but as a fan for the past 30 plus years.....who would have thought it would have lasted this long.

I think Mick said recently that they don't see the point given all the bootlegging that goes on and ends up on YouTube etc. I'd rather have a high quality dvd and cd!

With comments like this from Mick, you'd think he was paying for the DVD out of his own pocket. Like there's no profit potential lol.

In my opinion, they need more than a good DVD. They need an HBO special or something. And a documentary as thorough and interesting as that Eagles one and the recent David Bowie one on Showtime.

I agree. They have a tin ear for good ideas though. Their idea of good business is to hike ticket prices up; they don't see the value in producing good content, I don't think. I really hope they record some shows; perhaps the O2 shows next year? There are five nights albeit not consecutive and they could record, say, three of them and put a live DVD and album out for Christmas 2015.

That doesn't seem to be an issue with most artists/bands. Live albums are still being made. Official live albums still have a strong a appeal to a large demographic of fans who follow the bands they love, despite the access to bootlegs and YouTube.

Some members of Fleetwood Mac are misconstruing the domination of the social media generation, and are in turn, throwing their hands in the air, essentially saying " No one wants new music, no one wants live albums, no one buys records..." While the market has shrunk, and technology has drastically changed the business model that that they have benefited from in decades past, the band maintains a strong fan base. And contrary to their mindset, people still value the concept of albums. There is immeasurable value in the experience of listening to music and having a physical and visual representation of it.

Vinyl, inexplicably, has made a big comeback, somewhat signaling a rejection, or at least a tempering of the digital age, when the art form of music became increasingly accessible, but less intimate, and more disposable. A body of work became subject to personal selection. It's akin to purchasing a painting, then altering it -- changing some of the colors or figures, omitting certain aspects --all in the matter of personal preference. Art should have a split personality - one that pleases you, and one that challenges you.

...........still there should be a release to end this chapter of a great run.

It's called a new album.

I agree and we need to get both and I think we will.

That's a shame. Exactly, we want great sound and video quality.

I could care less about a live album from this tour. We have heard it all before except one or two songs. Give us NEW freaking material.

I agree! New music trumps new performances of old songs, especially since most of the songs have already have been previously released in live format, if not once or twice, but three different times! How much more redundant can you get?

They need something fresh, whatever they decide. The Eagles documentary was really really good. It didn't reduce the band to one era, it covered many albums, it was frank. I'd love to see such an in depth approach to Fleetwood Mac's work, following Mick and John from the beginning (not Rumours only). Three hours, epic, adoring, with all the classic songs. Also, if one of their concerts was filmed and put on HBO, it'd be great and reach many people. Certainly would be more enjoyable than the Beyonce/Jay Z ego trip, and would be different from prior video releases.

I think I agree with Mick.Why bother.Some of those YT videos are great even without the FX and slowmo effects you see on a pro shot video.

I watched the Minneapolis DVD from Throwndown and they did a nice job of editing multiple shots and syncing sound from a separate audio recording .

It would be great to see a pro copy come out anyway.

They probably gave up on the tourbooks because of all photos from the concerts are plastered over the internet after every show.

I dont see what the big deal on adding a couple of new songs that are already recorded into the setlist on the next leg.It should not take them long to rehearse with them.
