You will not believe my bad luck
 

I was on FB and discovered that next to the word messages when you go to read your new messages there is in brackets (other followed by the number of unread messages from FB that have been sent to this other section as I assume they think it is spam) I discovered I had 5 unread messages and this one below is a real beauty.

Hi Matt, I wanted to let you know that you were randomly drawn from all of the correct answers as the winner of our Fleetwood Mac contest! Please let me know where I can send the tickets and the sets to you. I see you live in the Ottawa area, I just wanted to make sure you are aware the prize does not include transportation or accommodations. Let me know also if you are ok with us posting your name as the winner on our From The Vaults Facebook page. Congratulations!!

Hey Matt, It's Ken Berry from Warner Music Canada again. You were the winner in our From The Vaults Fleetwood Mac package and I need to hear back from you by noon (EST) or I will have to re-draw another winner. cheers Ken

I do not remember entering the contest and I cannot find any other info regarding this contest. I found Ken's FB page and he says he works for Warner Bros Canada and I did find the FB page he referenced From The Vault but no mention of any contest when you scroll back through their timeline.

Does anyone remember this contest?

I don't understand why he wouldn't have emailed me through my yahoo email or tried to phone me as most contests require that info.

I'd bet $20 that you're being scammed.

Very true! The email just doesn't ring like a "you just won" type of vibe, it's very matter of fact. Just be cautious.

It seems realistic and quite detailed. It's not generic phishing, that's for sure.

Well, I am going to the Toronto show tomorrow night. Matt, hold up a big sign and I'll come say hello!!! This is the Toronto show we are talking about right?

And why the heck didn't I win tickets to it as well.............:shrug:

So after he confirms me as a friend on Facebook he sends me a message hours later very angry that I had posted the initial emails on FB that I missed seeing till last Wednesday. He felt like it left a sour note after being awarded the grand prize. I sent an apology and hopefully that smoothed things over. I nor any of my friends feel that nothing I said was out of line or disrespectful


In the end I have the tickets and am on my way. I am in section 118 row 15 seats 11 and 12.

Part of me is still suspicious why none of my friends nor myself can find info regarding this contest anywhere on the net and why no one claimed the grand prize.

It was only right for you to be skeptical, especially since you didn't remember entering the contest. Now, that it turns out to be a great experience, you will post words of praise and it will be great promotion for him.
