So I was reading the thank yous in the liner notes in the booklet… and some interesting stuff.

She says the following people "surrounded me--inspired me--" as she wrote the songs. At the risk of reading far too much into any of this, I did find it interesting that several of the men she's (reportedly) had relationships were on this list, like:

Usual suspects:
Lindsey (who comes third on the list immediately after her parents) and she's admitted like half the album is about him
Tom
Don
Joe
Jimmy
Paul Fishkin
Kim

But also:
JD Souther
Hernan Rojas
Curry Grant
Les Dudek
Prince

Now Les I can see him maybe just being an inspiration because they did write together. Similar with Prince. Curry, well he was around a lot for a long time, so his "inspiration" may or may not be romantic.

But now I wonder what songs might have been inspired by/about JD? Or Hernan, whom she reportedly dated during the making of Rumours (I believe.. or was it Tusk?)

That's 12 guys, there's 16 songs.. half about Lindsey, so if we take that literally (a risk) that leaves 8 songs to possibly be about 11 other guys. Oy. Stevie. I need a scorecard.

Also, I noticed that Christie Alsbury, who for quite a while became Christie Thomason (married to Greg Thomason) is now listed as Christie Alsbury-Lindsey, immediately followed in the credits by Ray Lindsey. Another Mac family partner swap??

And was it just me, or did anyone else get the sense watching the Destiny Rules documentary that Ray kinda found Stevie annoying?

I did not notice that. :laugh: But I totally get it. Time and again through that documentary I found Stevie to have more in common with Paris Hilton than I would have ever expected. I think she definitely hits 'princess mode' when she's in the same vicinity as Lindsey Buckingham.

in the sobering light of day I realized she told us 2 songs were about Mick. So that's half about Lindz and 2 about Mick and 6 for everyone else :lol:

Well, we have to go on the premise that Stevie doesn't think 8 is half of 16.
