It cost a lot for this project so please take a look

Heyyy- I know Lindsey co-wrote "Since You've Been Gone" by Belinda Carlisle in 1985.
|
Great project!
Stevie also sings on: Rosanna - Tom Snow (1976) Life On The Train - Maria Vidal (1987) Let Me Count The Ways - Dave Koz (1996) |
Great collection here, welcomechris!
Lindsey also co-wrote Pre-Impeachment Blues way back in 1973. His first co-write. You can find an MP3 of it here: http://www.buckinghamnicks.net/lb/lbmedia.html There's an "old school" compilation called "Buckingham Guests" that you might want to try tracking down if you can. It's 5 CD's of songs that Lindsey has worked on throughout the years. I don't know what the cut-off date is for it or if any additional discs have been added to the collection but it should take you up through at least 2004-2005. |
This is a project of what Lindsey is performing on.
Would anyone happen to have the audio of Rosanna - Tom Snow (1976) Life On The Train - Maria Vidal (1987) |
As for Let Me Count The Ways Stevie isn't singing backup on it she singing lead

I do have "Rosanna" and "Life On A Train" on my hard-drive, but they're both crummy 128kbps files though. I have to look to see if I have better copies anywhere. |

I know this one wasn't one you asked of me on tumblr but thought you might be interested anyway. It certainly fits here. It's Magnet & Steel but an acappella version of it - pretty sweet sounding version that I bought on iTunes.

I thought Lindsey had never worked on Stevie's solo material until In Your Dreams?

It was mentioned a bit in press she did: Another guest is Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham, who plays guitar on a song called “I Miss You.” Is the song about her former lover? “Well, it’s not,” says Nicks. “But a lot of these songs are about Lindsey.” (ROLLING STONE, 2001) Also, he was a big part of the version of Thrown Down that was done during the TISL sessions. There's a picture of him and Kristen with John Shanks - nice SN shirt, buddy!!! - in a studio from 2000ish, I believe. http://media.tumblr.com/10fa61df22bb...UjL1rjpgwn.jpg Lindsey seems to have hung around a bit during this time (as he did during the making of IYD...). He even went to the first playback for TISL. "These are some of the meanest lyrics I have ever written. I started trying to record this song in the early seventies, but we just couldn’t seem to capture it as a Fleetwood Mac song. Something was always missing. Many years passed, and though I didn’t hold out much hope, I tried to record the song once again for Trouble In Shangri-La, which was produced by Sheryl Crow and John Shanks. I will be eternally grateful to John, who helped find the missing piece that added the magic the song needed. Ironically, at the first playback for Trouble In Shangri-La, Lindsey went up to John and said, ‘Wow, I’m blown away. You actually captured this song that Stevie’s been singing for as long as I can remember.’" (CRYSTAL VISIONS LINER NOTES) 2001 was a good time... Stevie Nicks said: "But Lindsey and I have come through this whole thing, and we are still friends somehow. He lives 10 minutes from me. I can jump in the car and go over there." "So now with his new relationship that’s really great for me, because it allows me to be his friend, and hang out with him and see him." "Lindsey came down one night and walked in and there was Sheryl and Laura [Dern] and Meg [Ryan] - I guess Rosanna [Arquette] wasn’t there that night. But it was like there was a room full of girls that were movie stars and he was like ‘Oh my god’. I said ‘Mmm, you can come by my sessions more often.’" Peter Stroud said: "We were listening to a cassette tape, one of the original [Buckingham Nicks demo] cassette tapes…they were songs that Stevie had written, I there was a couple maybe they had written together, but they were the original performances of the two of them together….We were just working from those tapes…reworking the songs… It was one night when Lindsey came up to see Stevie at the studio. And, uh, after they visited, then, uh, later on, y’know, Sheryl said ‘Hey, why don’t we get, why don’t we get Lindsey to play?’ You know, and so they called him back and said, ‘Hey, come on down. You know, you wanna play?’ He said ‘Sure!’…. He just took off. We did, I think, five passes of this song. Every one was amazing. He would just play lead over it. You know…we just jammed. You know, the way you did it with Stevie was you would just play the song from start to finish, and just get that groove, and if it set her off and set the groove that she wanted she’d be in her vocal booth singing and we were all in the main room. And we just jammed. It would go on for five, six, seven minutes… Unfortunately, it didn’t make the record.” If we want to go further back (other than the delightful Twisted), I still haven't heard an alternative explanation for the hilarious 24 Karat Gold take where she says "Oh, shut up, Lindsey, just look at the camera!" other than Lindsey being there for a solo session of hers... http://buckinghamnicks-ff.tumblr.com...-to-bring-this |
Great list. Most notable recent LB contribution is on NIN Hesitation Marks album. I don't have it handy to check what all he did. I actually bought in on vinyl, and have yet to open it. Seems there is quite a bit more but is always a list in progress.
