While I've never visited during Mardi Gras, I am a frequent visitor to The French Quarter in New Orleans, going at least twice a year. The French Quarter is a place of history, mystery and beauty. Sadly, most people only think of the ugliness of Bourbon Street. When we visit The Quarter, we seldom ever hang out on Bourbon, as there are so many other fine and classic establishments within. When our girl Stevie wrote the song "New Orleans", I'm sure she didn't envision a COPS episode with all that trashy madness. If you stroll though The Quarter on a mysterious night, and stay in a fabulous 300 year old hotel, you will feel exactly what Stevie is describing.
