I just so this in Facebook. Its just 45 seconds of Stevie singing The Rose. I hope someone has the complete song and Stevie presenting Bette the award.

Holy crap that was amazing. I need to see the full version!!!

Even though The Rose was about Janis Joplin, I always thought of Stevie when I watched it. It certainly seemed to foreshadow some of the troubles she encountered in the 80s. Even some of her fashion choices & stage moves. :p

the movie is so sad :distress:
i haven't watched it in years
she should have won the oscar
i dont want to watch it and think about stevie, that would be even more depressing
but the parallels are definitely there  ... fashion choices ... hair ....

My kingdom for the entire performance!

This is f***** Amazing!! Her voice seems to have really improved since last years tour. Like she took some lessons or did something to "relax" it. Her voice sounds the best it has in several years IMHO.

This performance was from a few years ago, when Bette Midler was being honored. She does sound good. Wish we had the full song.

This was one of my moms favorite tunes. My mom loves Bette Midler .She seen her many times live.

I wouldn't mind and love to see Stevie put it into her setlist.

I'm almost sure we have the full performance but I'm not going to search my files looking for it.

Thanks for posting the link. I have always wanted to hear her version and would love to have audio of the entire song if anyone has it available. Here is a link to quite a few photos of the event with Stevie, Bette, Emmylou and numerous others. Click on the "more photos of Stevie at this event" button for a slidehow. Some great pics...
