Just Joined a Band
 

I joined a band last night. Basically, one of the most popular local bands got Buckingham Nicksed. Their two front-people were a couple and they decided to move to Nashville as a duo and leave the others in the dust. The remaining members (3 people, a bassist/vocalist, drummer, and lead guitarist) wanted to keep gigging around town and we got hooked up through a friend so I'm going to be doing vocals / guitar / keys.

We'll be doing a lot of covers, simply because it's lucrative... gotta appeal to the bar crowd and all when you're playing in a town like this. Classic rock and folky kind of stuff (which is fine with me, since that's a lot of what I like). But I've got tons of originals written and they said they'd be down for incorporating some of those and fleshing them out with a full band. So that's exciting. I'm just happy to get to play at all.

We jammed a little bit when I met with them to figure out what songs we wanted to try to get under our belts first, and one of the ones we decided on was Rhiannon :laugh:. I'm gonna do the main guitar part and the lead vocals for that, so I've been practicing all day. Here's a little snippet.



Anywho, just had to get my excitement out in the open in some fashion.

Thanks you guys. Our first real practice is on Thursday, and we're gonna be working on 3-4 songs each practice so we can hopefully have our set down in time for summer and can start playing out.
