That was a neat interview.

Thanks for the heads up Elle. This vid connected me to two more from that interview I had not seen yet.

I'll believe it when I see it. I think she'd get terribly, terribly bored sitting at home drawing. She seems to like constant changes of scenery, and she lives for the adventure of being a rock star. I'm filing this under the "Rhiannon Movie" category of bullsh*t. :p

Well, the fact that she doesn't draw very well is also an issue.

Ultimate Classic Rock, by Chris Epling 2-8-14

In the fourth installment of our exclusive video interview with Stevie Nicks, the fabled rock ‘n roll songstress discusses how her creativity is inspired by her surroundings.

“If I ever decided to make another real album, like ‘In Your Dreams,’” she tells Ultimate Classic Rock. “I think that we would have to move — but that’s alright — because I am a creature of environment…I think that a new house will probably bring a whole new set of new ideas and new fun, exciting adventures.”

Nicks suggests that one of those adventures could be art. She envisions continuing her singing career for about another six or seven years and then devoting more time to another artistic passion of hers, drawing.

“I’m not going to say like ‘I’m an artist,’” she continues. “Because it’s not like I’m Van Gogh or anything, because I’m not. But I have a lot of beautiful drawings, and I’ve kept them away from the world. I would really like to show them to people. I look forward to that.”

You can watch the interview above.

She really is trying to follow in the footsteps of Grace Slick eh?

Or the "I'm going to retire in ten years and paint pictures in a house on a cliff overlooking a turbulent sea" category (which she was telling reporters in 1981).

On the other hand, she doesn't write very well, either. But her self-epithet all these decades has been "poet."

Stevie brings passion and seriousness to all her endeavors. That's some of what I like about her (even if all her endeavors are squarely in the Masscult category).

If someone else said, "I love Game of Thrones and Taylor Caldwell and Glee and Twilight and Taylor Swift and Vanessa Carlton, yadda yadda," we'd think, "Oh, just a perky young teen." But since it's Stevie Nicks saying it, we think, "What a mystical revelation of true genius! Let us reappraise!"

And she's not a poet, but those leanings have often made her a great lyricist. Her words capture mood and emotion. Aplet? I didn't realize there was a word for that thing on my shoelace. That's what Stevie does sometimes, she chains words together that can describe that nick inside, the catch in the throat that you wouldn't think could be articulated.

I doubt her sketches can achieve that.

With her drawings, I would definitely be anxious to see anything she's done of the band members, including herself.

When it comes to horses and witches, I'm not that interested.

The woman is a complete nut job!! I love it though!

I like Stevie's art. It's very whimsical and colorful and it's not technical or realistic but I find it appealing.... maybe only because I can't do it. I can't draw anything that's not something I've seen before.
