Are there any Rosanne Cash fans on here?

If so, you better pick her new album The River & The Thread. It is getting all kinds of critical raves and it's an excellent album. Reminds me a little of Car Wheels On A Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams. It is that good. Lots of people are already calling it album of the year. I can't stop listing to it. Here it is. Listen to it. It's a piece of Americana.

Rosanne is the real deal. One of my absolute favorites.
And yes the new album is very good.

At her website you can order a deluxe edition of the new
album and it's autographed.

Jondalar are you wishing I wasn't a fan?

no - I'm happy you're a fan, she needs fans, alternative country doesn't seem to be supported

Cool beans.

Rosanne's album Interiors would probably
make my own top ten list of all time.

My parents wore out Seven Year Ache throughout my childhood. :p I was just streaming that album at work the other day, actually. Roseanne definitely has one of the most underrated voices in music. I put her right up there with Linda Ronstadt. I've never heard anything of Roseanne's outside of Seven Year Ache, but that's a fantastic album. I love the way she blends blues, country, and rock together... all while leaving some "air" in the arrangement. I need to delve more into her work... but I'm not quite sure where to start! :o

Seven Year Ache was the first I knew of her from the radio.
I still love that old song. Can't believe I don't actually have
that particular album. I'll remedy that though.

Try Interiors Louie.

Start with this album, the River and The Thread. I'm sure you will like it. Interiors is not for everyone.

It pays to check your collection. I do have that album.
I think I was a little confused because mine is an import
that used a different picture for the cover.

I might still get the more recent one that's been remastered.

Another recommendation and also my first Rosanne Cash
album Rhythm & Romance.

I love Rosanne Cash along with dad Johnny and mom June Carter Cash .I have all of her 1980's tunes and some of her later stuff.

True country music family.

Also I could add the Carter family too.

This new album is fantastic (but I'm slightly biased because she's one of my favorite artists). I wore it out on the NPR 'First Listen' stream even before I got the album I'd pre-ordered. But I kind of already knew I was going to enjoy it because she played it in its entirety at Americana Fest.

All of her albums produced by John Leventhal (The Wheel, Rules of Travel, Black Cadillac, The List, The River and the Thread) are pretty great. Probably my favorite era of her career. Although, I do have a fondness for the stuff she did with Rodney Crowell like 'Seven Year Ache' and 'Rhythm & Romance'.

PS. She's the daughter of Johnny and his first wife Vivian. Johnny and June only have one child together and that's John Carter Cash.
