Stand Back Little Red Corvette

Stevie Nicks admitted on Storytellers that she wrote the lyrics to Stand Back while listening to Prince's Little Red Corvette and that if you can get right into the beat of it you can sing Stand Back to Little Red Corvette. Ever since then I've been wanting the make this mash-up. The Stevie acappella I have is a little sloppy with some clicks in it that I couldn't get rid of, but it served it's purpose. I used the extended mix of LRC because it had more musical breaks in it, and I particularly love the way the ending came out. It's not perfect, but overall I'm pleased.

There's a "Stand Back / Little Red Corvette" mash-up that's been floating around on here for years...Perhaps someone has the "Road Rage" (SB+LRC mash) link

I did find an old thread Stevie Nicks Remix Project, Part 2: There's a bunch of Steve re-mixes...The links may or may not still work...

I just realized there's way too much echo on Stevie's voice. I'm gonna work on it a little more. I'll get back to y'all. :)

The timeline of this story always struck me as odd. "Little Red Corvette" came out in February 1983 and "Stand Back" came out in May 1983. I'm not really privy to how this sort of stuff works, but is 3 months really enough time for Stevie to hear Prince's song, write her own, record it, get it produced, perfected, printed, shipped, etc.

The album "Little Red Corvette" was from. ..."1999" was released on October 27, 1982. She said bought the album on her honeymoon in December 1982 on her way to Santa Barbara when she heard LRC...and was then immediately inspired to write Stand Back. So I think it started in December of 1982....before LRC was released as a single?

This sounds about right. Back then non singles were played on the U.S radio more so than now. So she probably did hear the song on the radio before it was officially released as a single.
