Trending on Yahoo

"Stevie Nicks" is trending on Yahoo right now. She's No. 2 behind Raquel Welch. Anyone have any idea why this would be?

TrueFaith77 08-17-2013 07:38 PM

I just saw that also--but then her name disappeared.

I think it was due to CMT's press release yesterday regarding the Crossroads special with Lady Antebellum. I noticed alot of stuff about that...online.

Would a CMT show with Lady Antebellum really have such an impact on internet searches? Wow.

But then, it is Yahoo... I suppose that's hardly representative of the general population.

Don't forget, the Sound City documentary aired last night on VH1. That's probably why she was trending.

The Yahoo trending list seems entirely bogus. If it's trending on Twitter, now that means something. I mean Yahoo had Vivian Leigh up there because her personal papers have been acquired by a museum. Now, I know there were some people interested in that story, including myself, but I seriously don't think it was trending among all the internet searches being done.

After disappearing last night, she's showing up again right now.

MikeInNV 08-18-2013 06:47 PM

Now she's No. 1. What's up Yahoo?

annabellee 08-18-2013 07:47 PM

Yikes!

I hate when she trends. I'm always afraid it's an obituary...:sorry:

Not being a smarty butt or anything but Yahoo is my homepage and when things Trend it is when something is going on with that person. Probably the CMT posting w/Lady A. I think it's a good thing.;)

I want to know when things are going on with FM people, certainly, but it's a little misleading because I associate "trending" with a lot of people talking about something. For Yahoo's trending topics, I think it's stories they are promoting, rather than a measure of the volume of interest in that story.

I dumped Yahoo as my home page years ago do to bunch of BS they clam on the site. Now I use Google as my home page with out the adverts and other rubbish they put on the site.

CMT probably had something to do with it.I would not put it past them.

I do think items on Yahoo's trending list are sponsored. Still, that's good for SN fans that CMT thinks her name is a big enough draw that they really want to get this Crossroads some attention. So, I guess, paid or not the attention is flattering and helpful to Stevie. I guess she'll be doing some publicity around the time when the show airs, but it's cutting it a little close to the next round of tour dates.

FM fans have had a very good year. And it ain't over yet.

Yea. Probably not.

I think its great the show is getting will promoted and she's getting the country fans in which most know who she is.

Sa I always see.I love to see her cut a complete country album. She will kick a$$ of Taylor Swift and the other younger artists how it should be done.

Amen to that, Michele! I am loving it! Age does truly wonderful things for the mind and soul. Things that have always been important become even more important. Regret for foolishness makes us seek forgiveness and give in return. Love of all kinds is so much more important and hate and dislike temper and resolve.

We all love FM and it's various members like family and old friends because they have been with many of us for soooooo long and they are so vulnerably human even with all the crazy trappings!

I was 14 when I heard FM for the first time, Bob Welch's time...and I fell in love, it's sooooo sad how FM acts like he never even existed and you just know that Stevie had to have LOVED that mystical stuff he came into FM with...anyway, I am now 56 and I am still madly in love with the music and the members. THAT'S a whole lot of shared history, because what they were doing, I was doing and it took me a long time to beat down the demons, too! Looks like even the craziest of us FINALLY get there if we're lucky!
