I appreciate any effort to rekindle the idea of shared experience in the digital age. It's something that's becoming lost in an age of ever more individual, insular pleasures.

However, is this weird timing or what? Like, why even bother at this point? I'd like to know how many end up participating.

And at least it's a more straightforward way for non-North American fans to actually see the thing.

It's just something fun to do while we wait for the FM tour to start up again. Hopefully, we can get more people to buy the movie and drive interest to get it released on DVD.

So far, 66 people have RSVPed for the viewing event. But I'd imagine many more will watch the movie from the web site, without participating in the chat.

I have to apologize, SpyNote. I carelessly missed some details in my first glance at the original post, and just assumed this was something that was something official-ish put forth by Stevie's "people" rather than a fan-organized thing. It makes much more sense and seems like a much better idea now.

Do we have to RSVP to the chat to participate? I'm not sure whether or not I'll be available and with internet on Sunday. But it could be fun.

No problem! I'm flattered by the implication :)

No RSVP necessary. It just gives people an idea of who may be watching and commenting. The chat will happen simultaneously on both Facebook and Twitter. We have around 100 people so far. :woohoo: The entire doc will be posted on the main page of Stevie Nicks Info during the chat, for people who haven't seen it before.

A good excuse to actually use my cobweb-covered Twitter account, then! Hopefully I'll be available at the time. :)

If I can manage to wake up at 0500 in Down Under then I will defo be watching guys. Loved Destiny Rules doco, is this similar? Maybe less arguing in the IYD doco and more actual teamwork and decision making do you think?

I was thinking today how if Fleetwood Mac's members could just get along - that is come to a compromise, negotiate a way to record an album in a way where Stevie gets creative control of her songs, Lindsey gets to do some producing - but he can collaborate with Stevie on her songs (yes, like they did on Without You in studio; a recording which I actually quite like). Then Linds can produce his own songs. Mick and John can play to their heart's content and hell, if Mick or John want to add drum beats or bass progressions they have written, provided they work well within the context of Linds and Stevie's songs - then let them do that. And if Christine is willing to contribute but only from London; travel there to record with her! Or get her to email you her demos! We live in the digital commuter age ... anyway...sorry about the rant.

Hopefully will be watching on Sunday just need to get up early enough. I love Stevie - she is just so silly and cute...you know, she just has this somewhat warped view of the world but at the same time she has those occasional moments where she shows some brilliant insight into how people perceive fame, love and relationships, and oh...I'll stop there because I don't want to sound like a flake. But Stevie is a beautiful person.

Secret Love, I hope you enjoy the documentary if you do manage to catch it (5am!? Yikes! The world is just too big). It does have a much more we're-all-in-this-together-having-fun vibe than Destiny Rules, but it is a much glossier production, and has frequent music-video-y segments where I personally would have preferred more docu content. I'd have appreciated a more straightforward documentary style a la DR, but it's still very much worth a watch and full of great little moments.

We're going to do another viewing at the end of the month for fans in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and this part of the world at a more reasonable time of day, probably a Sunday afternoon. I'm thinking about streaming the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performance from 2006 too, if there's any interest.

As of today, we're at 150 guests! Hope to "see" you on Sunday!

PinkCollins 08-18-2013 11:49 AM

Ah nice lovely reasonable time for me. 8pm :)

Looking forward to this , felt left out not being able to see it.
