The June UCR Hall of Fame finals pits two undeniably legendary bands — Creedence Clearwater Revival and Fleetwood Mac — against each other. Each month, our readers will determine which of eight legendary artists or bands is immortalized forever for their contributions to classic rock history.

Fleetwood Mac emerged from the British blues revival of the late ’60s, but after a series of lineup and style changes achieved their greatest fame and influence in the ’70s with the addition of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. They defeated Iron Butterfly and Jeff Beck to arrive in the finals, and you can check out this list of their top 10 songs if you want to understand what got them here.

Creedence Clearwater Revival exploded out of the fertile San Francisco music scene in the late ’60s and helped lead a massive roots-revival movement in rock music. They were only together a brief amount of time, but a look (and listen) to our list of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Top 10 Songs shows just how much they accomplished together. They defeated Deep Purple and the Doors to reach the finals.

While somewhat interesting, these polls are meaningless. I don't see the need to set up a "Sophie's choice" between very disparate bands. CCR and Fleetwood Mac are both great bands.

Oh, I missed that you can vote once per day. Just gotta check back in every day til the 30th.

I voted again today and they're now down by about 5%.

But this time when I voted it said: "This UCR Hall of Fame Poll closes June 30, 2013 at 11:59PM ET. You can vote once an hour until then!" Maybe the CCR fans knew that before we did ;)

I am perplexed that CCR is in the lead.

They're gaining: CCR - 50.48%
Fleetwood Mac - 49.52%

Just voted for Fleetwood Mac, though I like CCR, but the Mac is the best!!! :cool:

They're in the lead now.

Although both are bonafide classic rock contenders, to me FM has stood the test of time better and is still to this day an active band. Not as active as I'd like them to be, but nonetheless still out there doing their thing.
