The movie "Beaches" vs. Robin & Stevie
 

I was watching "Beaches" today for the 100th time, and never realized the similarities between the characters in the movie, and what Stevie has shared about her best friend Robin.

You know, the Famous artist and best friend from childhood. Also, the character in the movie and Stevie wanted to take care of their best friends child.

I wonder how this movie affected her. I think it must have been hard to watch since the movie was made in the 80's, when she also lost her best friend to cancer.

I know this is an odd comparison, but there are some similarities. :nod:

Don't know about beaches, but for sure the friendship story that had a lasting impression on Stevie was Julia by Lillian Hellman. It was made into a movie with Jane Fonda and Vanessa Redgrave.

Interesting ! I wonder if that was the inspiration for the song "Julia"?
