What lineup made you a Fleetwood Mac fan?
 

What Fleetwood Mac lineup was the reason of becoming a fan?A specific lineup or the sum of all?

Don't Stop, Dreams, and Gypsy were my first three FM songs I heard. So yeah Rumours line up for me was first.

After that, I have to go with Post-Rumours. The first album I got was the '88 GH. I really liked No Questions Asked and As Long As You Follow, so I branched out into the Post-Rumours lineup based on my liking those two songs.

Several months later I got the '92 box set and discovered the 4th disc with Peter, Jeremy, Danny, Bob Welch, and Christine's songs. The fact that Christine was present for all eras helps feed my love of Fleetwood Mac. :cool:

It was the Rumours line-up for me, although I do enjoy the Welch period as well. I was playing with my parents 8 track player at the time and put in Fleetwood Mac followed by Rumours and simply fell in love. By the time Stevie started the solo career I was obsessed with her. I bought Mirage on Vinyl when it came out and later had to beg my Uncle to take me to the concert. Still can't believe my childhood favorites are still touring...LOVE IT.

I can't imagine this NOT being a 90+% Rumours win. Although many of us discovered the other versions of the band, after falling for the mega selling version....

It's tough to say for sure, my parents played The Dance a lot when I was a kid and when I was getting into music I definitely thought of those recordings as great but didn't own anything by the band but then I heard some cuts from Bare Trees and Future Games and was absolutely amazed by this other phase of the band. So I went out to buy their records but the store didn't have those aforementioned two at the time, so I bought Tusk and Rumours. I gotta say I was blown away by Tusk. Still am to this day. But I had no trouble buying half a dozen more FM albums in about a month and was definitely a hardcore fan of Welch's contributions in particular on some of those "transition period" records.

Rumours. Although they're number two now. Simply because they were/are freakin' EVERYWHERE.

It was Rumours era for me. I became a fan with Tango. I was already a fan of Lindsey (since 1984) and Stevie (since 1985), but I had no idea at the time that they had ever been in a band together.

It was Stevie solo first for me. My mom's been obsessed with her since she was 16 years old and filled my mind with what a goddess she is since I was born. I was like 3 years old and Stevie Nicks was like a tooth fairy/easter bunny character to me. lol. I only got really into the rest of FM stuff when I was around 8 or 9. But it'd be Rumours after that.

Now, that's very interesting.

It's the very first time I read something like that. Very interesting indeed.

Rumours line-up for me as TITN was when I first fell in love with them.

I lost interest in them a bit after Lindsey left so ended up listening a lot to the Peter Green era stuff which is amazing.

Neither of my parents were into the band, I discovered them all by myself and am so happy I did:D

First one I listened to was Greeny era, Rumours era made me a fan

first one i knew was Peter Green era.

hearing Second Hand News drew me in, about 5 or so years after having been originally disappointed with GH '88. in 2003 i heard Peacekeeper on the radio a lot, and thought that combination of LB/SN voices is what i liked. 6 years after that i bought The Very Best of FM and Lindsey's Soundstage to finally sample them out, in addition to listening to FM and LB solo stuff on youtube and rhapsody. i expected to like Lindsey just in combination with Stevie / Mac, and not on his own. wrong! i became a fan of most of the stuff that Lindsey was involved in, whether solo or with FM.

I started in 1987 and was actually digging "Mystery To Me" and a few of the Boston Tea Party tapes within a couple of months of buying "Tango". I'm embarrassed that I knew MTM by heart before I ever heard "Rumours."
