The eBay problem

The eBay problem. I have it. It's...addictive to put it mildly. I've considered asking my employer to block it from my computer, but I don't think it can be done - and I'd just use my phone instead.

It's not an issue all the time, just maybe once per year where I get obsessed with something and have to buy related items on eBay for weeks on end.

Right now, it's 12" singles from a band I'm fond of. Gotta catch 'em all!

Anyone else have this issue? Is it all the time? Periodically? Rarely?

I had a problem with getting hooked buying Stevie/FM stuff out of the Goldmine paper 20 years ago.

I've probably spend $1000's of dollars doing so.I'm glad that I never got hooked on Ebay also I end up getting over bid on there.

My late sister was a QVC addict .She bought probably everything that was televised. My Dad and the UPS man become friends since he delivered QVC packages weekly for my sister.

I'm obsessed with really cool western shirts, made by a certain unnamed :p company. I've got about 15 of them, but I still keep watching them on eBay, buying one about every other month.
Here's a good example, the last shirt I bought.

On a related note, nobody seems to know what a Nudie Suit is, but I bought a Nudie jacket in Nashville, on my last trip!

THANK YOU! Non musicians don't even know what a Nudie is. I don't think one friend has known what I was talking about, when I told them I bought a Nudie.

There are a few things I always search on Craigslist, before I head to Nashville. This was the first time there was a Nudie listed! It's a 40reg. He paid $2500 for it, and had it listed at $500. I tried lowballing him in email, and he wasn't budging, so I took an extra $500 with me. I met up with him, and fell in love, the second I saw it. Tried it on, and it couldn't BE a better fit. Fits me perfectly! He said, "that looks like a million bucks on you!" I said, I know. He said, "are you going to try and talk me down, now?". "Nope. I'm officially in love with it. Here you go!"

He had a short career in the 90's. One major label release, with two singles charting, and then it was over. He did write a #18 hit, for the band Lonestar, called "Heartbroke Everyday"(ironically, that song was the reason I bought a Tele with a B bender, back when it was a hit!).

I went through a shirt phase too, buying any and every shirt with a tree on it. :o

I wear them onstage. I bought one about 5 years ago, and fell in love with it. They are on eBay all the time, but some people are trying to get $100, which I won't pay. I usually pay about $30 for them(I'll get outbid on several, then manage to be there at the right time, to win one). The worst I ever did? I was drinking at a friend's house, and knew the auction was about to end. Got on his computer, and with him egging me on, I did pay $90 for one. I regretted it the next day, but live and learn...
Kids, don't drink whiskey, then start bidding on stuff!:p

Complete Ebay ho. Hi, my name is Anita and I'm an Ebay addict. lol. Actually only for FM/SN stuff. There is hope tho. Ever tried selling on ebay? Even that stuff that you are sure no one will want. Give it a go. If you can sell random stuff, maybe it'll help your ebay addicition.
I do go thru phases tho. If I find a bunch of FM singles for example, then I'm on the hunt for even more. Then ebay dries up, and I ween myself from checking every half an hour. I'm here for you.

Looks like we have a little club forming.

I just got three records in the mail yesterday. It's so exciting to open those packages!

I'm so in love with this jacket, that I'm keeping it in my safe! Seriously. Some lady last night told me, you'd better not lay that down somewhere, or it'll disappear!

LOL...can I be in the club??? Pleeease?

FM singles? Did you win the Zimbabwe 45? I hope a Ledgie got it...even tho I'm a tad bitter I lost out. A single from Zimbabwe...just funny. "yea, I got a record from Zimbabwe" what's in your wallet?! lol

Double thrill to be sure. A) winning it...in any manner. Putting in bid, forgetting and finding later you've won it-OR those heart pounding moments of playing the game til the last second.
B) the mail box dance you do when you see there's one of your treasures in the post. Squeeeeee!

It was 3 12" singles from Siouxsie & The Banshees. I've decided I can't live without them. So I've been carefully scouring eBay for a while searching out the best copies at a good price; and of course, UK pressings only.

I haven't bought any Mac related stuff in a while, but that bug will bit another time.

Ofcourse I've told you before that I love you....but let me count the ways. FM fan on an FM board talking about buying Siouxsie stuff on Ebay. My hearts a flutter. lmao

Yea, my SATB collection is small cause there is SO MUCH SATB stuff out there. Have you even started on Creatures? Collecting to have or for the tunes? You do have the Downside Up box right? You must show and tell what'cha got!!!! I've been on the hunt as of late for the fan club CD singles. Red Wrapping Paper and Rocket Ship. So stupid I never got those. I did almost buy an Arabian Nights 12"...think it started at $2.99-was a really great price, but......ebay...trying....to....resist....
