war of the roses - continuation of IYD thread

there seems to be a never-ending discussion and calling on the carpet of one or the other group of fans for... well... let's say loving their favorite band member too much and intentionally or unintentionally stepping on the toes of other band members and/or their fans.

here's the explanation - http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showpo...&postcount=135

it would be great if we can transfer and continue those discussions in this thread, and keep posts on topic in IYD song selection thread.

thoughts? suggestions? caustic humor? :D

yeah from CAD's description i don't see that Lindsey's behaving any different than on his solo tours - seems like he's soaking up audience's reaction to certain songs the same as he always does. you can call it milking it and i may agree with you but i'd rather performer appreciates and interacts with the audience then just going on to the next song like audience is not even there.

he also sometimes jumps around and stomps when he's happy how a particular performance turned out and i really don't see a problem with that considering that he works his ass up there and always gives you 200%. it's just a part of him the same as the stupid skinny jeans and opened v-neck t-shirts.

Yeah I'm not generalizing though. He didn't do the grandstanding at every show. I was at the Nashville show and it was all fine. Of course, that doesn't mean he didn't do it at other shows. It was that night, as I said, in bad enough form to garner a reaction from John who is usually so low key if it wasn't for his driving bass you would forget he was there.

he doesn't do it at every mac show? he just goes on without acknowledging audience reaction to his songs? :distress:

lol re John. would have loved to see that.

and i can completely see how Stevie would be annoyed with Lindsey trying to coax her into making new FM album by saying "there's no new album... YET" - let's hope that finally they are all on the same page and finish that album before the fall. and release those 3 songs ASAP - what is the wait guys??

SN - Secret Love video looks like a penny arcade and EAP is in the Moonlight video and of course, there is the Annabel Lee thing....

Interesting too that Stevie said that her Psychiatrist kept her on Klonopin for so long because he wanted to pump her for information - thus spying by a medicine man...

I'm just sayin' there shouldn't be two gangs - there should just be one - ;):D

you know when i first started looking up LB i stumbled upon that seven wonders board and some thread that was going on for ages (like 100+ pages or something) that was called hollywood dads... i never checked it out at first but there were numerous posts in other threads pointing out to it. so i finally looked through it and wow - all those pages of completely off topic rambling!! what was happening in IYD thread, although a different topic, reminded me of that. so at least this thread may be some place to transfer when it happens... but yeah i'm probably severely delusional.

Elle, to continue the discussion from IYD, there's a Concert Info page that I dropped the ball on this last year. http://www.fleetwoodmac.net/fwm/inde...d=29&Itemid=43

I wanted it to be up for this tour (and I think it still will be, if I take my multi- vitamins and hustle from now until April). But meanwhile, as long as we put newspaper articles and concert reviews here, we will always have them and the Ledge posts are searchable in Google, so we should always be able to find something we want in the future. It's just not as organized.
The thing about the other page is sometimes it will attract people who aren't Ledgies to post a review of the shows and obviously that's a good thing.

FM Legacy is a really great place, because even though it has no activity on the bulletin board, Jannie F still keeps the other sections up to date and it's a great reference.

ah i see it... yeah it's nice that non-members can post reviews. maybe put just a first few up there and then add as the tour progresses?

we will for sure start making tour dates by cities here as it comes closer and we can probably start even now since all these city-specific tour promos are out if you want that?

see this is an example of something that i'm wondering about (guess LB really shouldn't have been playing that guitar either ;) ) -

to make it easier for everybody to understand the way this reads would be very similar to someone saying something like:

"To me most of Stevie's contributions are the disposables from the FM catalogue. She really should have stuck to singing backup and looking pretty."

or

"To me, most of Christine contributions are the disposables from the FM catalogue. She really should have stuck to singing backup and playing piano."

 obviously all of these are nonsense, and all 3 songswriters plus the rhythm section made FM what it is today. (that's not to say that i really listen to mostly just Lindsey's contributions to all FM albums and here and there one of the songs from the girls ;) :p)

anyway, when you see stuff like this all the time it just adds up although you should really ignore it and take it all as an entertainment and good fun - which most of us usually do. but if you keep getting jumped on by several people for saying similar stuff about another band member, and getting accused of trying to start wars and competitions, then there seems to be some double standard going on.

(sorry mitzo for using your post as an example, it was just the first that came up. :sorry:)
