No, he's playing a fender strat (or so it appears). It's a guitar. 6 strings as you can distinguish by the tuning pegs at the top.

The video is just a weird quality/lighting so some of the strings blend into the neck.

yep, definitely a fender strat of some kind. He's not even playing the guitar solos right either. :distress: :D
