Analyzing album covers: 25 Years The Chain

errr.. Yes I know all lineups are in this box set. But since all analysis are in this forum, I think you'd agree to post this here too, since it's the most popular forum, and lot (most) of songs of this lineup are in this boxset (Do you agree to post the Greatest Hits (1988) analysis here too?).

So it's John's arm and his penguin tattoo. I'd like to know how they chose it. I guess it was Mick's idea, and maybe he just talked about it with John and probably Chris. Lindsey and Stevie were very apart from the band that year, I don't think they cared about the cover.

I think is a good choice, cause John was almost the only member in all lineups. I said almost cause Mick wrote that when Peter chose the name "Fleetwood Mac", John was still in another band.

So Mick could be the better choice, he was in all lineups, but.. I think John is very good here.

I think it's cool - John's bass and penguin tattoo. It's sweet too that at that point Mick probably felt John was the most loyal to him.

I like it cause my favorite bassist gets to be the only one on cover. he's in the limelight for a change, ans his penguin tattoo is soo cute. :xoxo:

And it seems he is continuing the tradition of showing an uncomplete John

An uncomplete John is better than no John at all

Loved it in Destiny Rules when, instead of saying she didn't hear enough base Stevie said, "It sounds like John fell off of the stage."

And I like the arm on the cover, because it looks like a strong, sturdy arm. You know, not a scrawny, weak one. It looks like a rugged arm that is fitting for the man described as the backbone of the band to possess.

Tattooed with a penguin back when tattoos used to mean something. Now they are a dime a dozen.

My exact thoughts while I was reading your 2nd sentance. John and Mick are the backbone to their legacy.

Glad Mick (or whomever) took this photo and let John shine. I love the cover.
