Really sad to hear about Larry's passing. What an icon.

He was a heavy drinker, actually an alcoholic. He got a liver transplant after he was diagnosed with liver cancer in 1995, and as I read cancer spread to his throat in 2011.

However though he was alcoholic, from what I saw in E! True Hollywood story and those bio shows, I think he enjoyed life.

Yes, he quit drinking when he was diagnosed with cirrhosis. He was always upfront about his vices. He quit smoking in the '80's. I remember during the Dallas heyday he was an advocate for the American Cancer Society.

I wonder if TNT will continue with the new Dallas show next season.Without JR the show will crap out.He will be missed,Even when he was a pricker bush on the show.

I think it will. I read they were already recording some episodes, besides surely there are already investments to rec0ver (sorry if I talk about money but I think it's always the issue in corporations).

But probably it won't last too much without J.R., even if he was a supporting role this time.
